Zechariah 11

¹ Lebanon, make una open una doors, so that fire fit burn down una cedar trees!

² Cypress trees, make una cry and weep; the cedars don fall. Those glorious trees don perish. Oak trees for Bashan go cry for the forest wey people don cut down!

³ The rulers dey cry out in pain; dem don lose their glory! Make una hear as lion dey shout, their forest home along Jordan don perish!

⁴ God tell me say, “Act like shepherd of flock of sheep wey dem wan kill.

⁵ Their owner kill them and nobody punish their owner. Dem sell the meet and talk say, ‘Praise God! We are rich! Even their own shepherd no pity them.”

⁶ (God talk say, I no go pity anyone on earth again. I go put all people under power of their rulers. Those rulers go destroy the earth, and I no go save am from their power.).

⁷ Those wey dey buy and sell sheep hire me, and I become the shepherd of the sheep wey dem go kill. I take two sticks: and I call one “Favor” and the other “Unity.”

⁸ I vex with the other three shepherds wey hate me, and I kill all of them within one month.

⁹ Then I tell the sheep say, “I no be una shepherd again. Make sheep wey wan die, make dem die. Those wey wan destroy, make dem destroy. Then make the ones wey remain destroy themselves.

¹⁰ That same day, I take the stick wey I dey call “Mercy” and break am, to cancel the covenant wey God don make with all nations.

¹¹ Those wey dey buy and sell sheep dey watch me, and dem know say God dey speak through wetin I do.

¹² I tell them say, “If una like, make una give me my wages. But if una no wan pay, keep them.” Naso dem pay me 30 pieces of silver for my wages.

¹³ God tell me say, “Put the money for temple treasury. Naso I put the money inside treasury for temple of God.

¹⁴ Then I break the second stick, the one I dey call “Unity”, and destroy the unity wey dey between Judah and Israel.

¹⁵ God con tell me say, “Act like shepherd again, this time make you be shepherd wey no get value.

¹⁶ I don put a shepherd in charge of my flock, but he no dey help the sheep wey destruction dey threaten; he no dey look for the ones wey don lost, or heal the ones wey get wound, or feed the ones wey dey strong. Instead, he just dey chop the sheep wey fat pass and remove their bone .

¹⁷ That useless shepherd don enter trouble. He no take care of the sheep! Na war go fully destroy him power. Him hand go shrink, and him right eye go blind."
