Ruth 4

⁸ So after the man don gree make Boaz buy the land, he take off one of him sandal and give am to Boaz.

⁹ Boaz come tell the twon leaders and everyone else say: All of una be witness say today I don buy from Naomi the property wey belong to Elimelech and him two sons, Chilon and Mahlon.

¹⁰ Una also be witness say I don gree to marry Mahlon widow Ruth, the Moabite woman. Na wetin go keep the property for him family name be this, and una no go forget am for this town.

¹¹ The town leaders and others wey dey stand there say: We be witness to this. And we pray say God go give your wife plenty children, just as he do for Leah and Rachel, Jacob wife. You go be rich man for Ephraim tribe and important person for Bethlehem.

¹² The children wey you go get from this young woman go make your family dey famous like Perez family, son of Tamah and Judah.

¹⁴ After dem born am, the women tell Naomi say: Praise God! Today, he don give you grandson to take of you. We pray say the boy go grow up to get fame everywhere for Israel.

¹⁵ He go make you happy and take care of you for your old age, because he be the son of your daughter-in-law. And she love you pass the way seven sons of your own go fit love you.

¹⁶ Naomi love the boy and take care of him.

¹⁷ The women wey be their neighbor name him Obed, but dem dey call him “Naomi boy.” When Obed grow up, he get a son wey dem dey call Jesse, who later become father of King David.
