Psalms 83

¹ No keep quiet; O God; no stand still, no dey quiet!

² See! Your enemy dey cause trouble, and those wey hate you dey go against you.

³ Dem dey plan for secret against your people; dem dey plan against those wey you dey protect.

⁴ Dem dey talk say, “Come, make we destroy their nation, so that dem go forget Israel forever.”

⁵ Dem agree for their plan and dem form union against you:

⁶ The people of Edom and Ishmaelites; the people of Moab and the Hagrites,

⁷ The people of Gebal, Ammon, and Amalek, and Philistia and Tyre.

⁸ Assyria too don join them as strong partner for Ammonites and Moabites, wey be descendant of Lot.

⁹ Do them wetin you do Midianites, and Sisera and Jabin for Kishon River.

¹⁰ You defeat them for Endor, and their body rotten for ground.

¹¹ Do their leader wetin you do Oreb and Zeeb; make you defeat their rulers as you do Zebah and Zalmunna,

¹² wey talk say, “We go take land wey belong to God as our own.”

¹³ Scatter them like dust , O God, like grass wey wind blow away.

¹⁴ As fire dey burn forest, as smoke dey set hill on fire,

¹⁵ pursue them commot like your storm and make them fear with your terrible wind.

¹⁶ O LORD, make you cover their face with shame, and make dem appreciate your power.

¹⁷ Make you defeat them and make fear catch them forever; make dem die in complete shame.

¹⁸ Make them know say na only you be the LORD, Almighty ruler on top all the earth.
