Micah 5

¹ People of Jerusalem, make una gather una soldiers! Enemy don surround us! Dem dey attack the leaders of Israel!

² God say, “Bethlehem Ephrathah, una be one of the town wey small pass for Judah, but I go bring a ruler for Israel out of una, wey him family line go come from ancient times.”

³ So God go abandon him people give their enemy until the woman wey wan born don get her son. Then those israelites wey don dey strange land go join their own people again.

⁴ When he come, he go rule him people with the strength wey come from God and with the authority of the LORD God himself. Him people go live for safety, because people all over the earth go recognize him greatness,

⁵ and he go bring peace. When Assyrians attack our country and break our defence, we go send our strongest leaders to go fight them.

⁶ Dem go use sword defeat Assyria, the land of Nimrod, and dem go save us from Assyrians when dem attack our territory.

⁷ The people of Israel wey survive go be like fresh dew wey God send to many nations, like rain on top plant wey dey grow. Dem go depend on God, no be human being.

⁸ The people wey remain for the nations go be like lion wey dey look for food inside forest or pasture, e enter where sheep dey, jump on dem and tear dem to pieces – and dem no get hope for rescue.

⁹ Israel go defeat her enemies and destroy all of them.

¹⁰ God say, “For that time I go take una horses away and destroy una chariots.

¹¹ I go destroy the city wey dey una land and tear down una defences.

¹² I go destroy the margic charm una dey use and una no go get fortune tellers again.

¹³ I go destroy una idols and una sacred stone pillars; una no go dey worship anything una don make again.

¹⁴ I go destroy statues of goddess Asherah for una land and destroy una cities.

¹⁵ And in my great anger I go take revenge on all nations wey no obey me.”
