Leviticus 22

¹ God command Moses

² make he tell Aaron and him son say, “Make una no bring disgrace to my holy name, so make una dey treat holy offering wey people of Israel don dedicate to me with respect. I be the LORD.

³ If any of una descendant come near the holy offering wey people of Israel don dedicate to me when he dey unclean, he no go ever fit serve again for altar. Na for all time to come e go be like this. I be the LORD.

⁴ None of Aaron descendant wey don get terrible skin disease or wey get discharge fit eat any of the holy offering, until he don dey clean. Any priest go be unclean, if him touch anything wey be unclean when he get contact with dead body, or if he don get discharge of semen

⁵ or if he don touch animal or person wey dey unclean.

⁶ Any priest wey don become unclean go remain unclean till evening, and even then, he no fit eat any holy offering until he don bath.

⁷ After the sun don go down he go dey clean, and he go come fit eat the holy offering wey be him food.

⁸ Make he no eat meat of animal wey don die natural death or wey wild animal don kill; e go make him unclean. I be the LORD.

⁹ All the priest go follow all the rules wey I don give. Or else, dem go dey guilty and die, because dem don disobey the holy rule. I be the LORD and I make them holy.

¹⁰ Na only member of priest family fit eat any of the holy offerings; no one else fit eat them – even person wey dey stay with a priest or wey him hire no fit eat am.

¹¹ But a priest slave, wey him buy with him own money or wey dem born for him home, fit eat the food wey the priest receive.

¹² Priest daughter wey marry person wey no be priest no fit eat any of the holy offerings.

¹³ But a daughter wey be widow or don divorce wey no get children and wey don come back to dey live for him father house fit eat the food wey her father get as a priest. Only member of priest family fit eat any of am.

¹⁴ If any person wey no be member of a priest family go eat any of the holy offering by mistake, he go repay the priest with full value plus additional twenty percent.

¹⁵ Make the priest no make the holy offering unholy

¹⁶ by allowing person wey no suppose eat am to eat am; this go bring guilt and punishment on top that kind person. I be the LORD and I make the offerings holy.”

¹⁷ God command Moses

¹⁸ make he give Aaron and him sons, and all people of Israel the rules wey follow. When any Israelite or foreigner wey dey live for Israel present burnt offering, whether to fulfil vow or for freewill offering, make the animal no get error.

¹⁹ Make e be male wey no get error, so that I go accept am.

²⁰ If una offer any animal wey get error, God no go accept am.

²¹ When any person bring fellowship offering to God, whether to come fulfil vow or for freewill offering, make the animal no get error if he want make I accept am.

²² Make una no offer to God any animal wey don blind or don cripple or don get any damage, or wey get infection or wound for skin. No offer that kind animal on top altar for food offering.

²³ For freewill offering, una fit offer any animal wey no grow well or wey no form well, but I no go accept am for vow.

²⁴ Make una no offer any animal wey dem don press, cut, or remove the testicle. This one no dey allowed for una land.

²⁵ Make una no offer animal wey una collect from foreigner as food offering. That kind animal don get error and dem no dey acceptable.

²⁷ When calf or lamb or kid is born, make una no take am from the mama for seven days, but after that, e don dey acceptable as food offering.

²⁸ Make una no sacrifice a cow and the calf, or a sheep and the lamb, or a goat and the kid, for same day.

²⁹ When una dey offer thanksgiving sacrifice to God, make una dey follow the rule, so that una go dey accepted;

³⁰ dey eat am the same day and make una no leave any of the meat till the next morning.

³¹ God say, “Obey my commands; I be the LORD.

³² No dey bring disgrace on my holy name; all people of Israel must dey acknowledge me say I dey holy. I be the LORD and I make una holy;

³³ and I bring una out of Egypt to become una God. I be the LORD.”
