Leviticus 16

¹ God talk to Moses after two of Aaron son die when dem offer fire wey no dey holy to God.

² He say, “Tell your brother Aaron say, na only proper time make he dey go behind curtain enter Most Holy Place, because na there I dey appear for cloud on top Covenant Box cover. If he no obey, he go die.

³ He fit enter the Most Holy Place only after he don bring a young bull for sin offering, and a ram for burnt offering.

⁴ God come give the rules wey follow. Before Aaron enter Most Holy Place, make he bath and wear priest garment: the linen robe and shorts, the belt, and the turban.

⁵ Israel community go give Aaron two male goats for sin offering and a ram for burnt offering.

⁶ He go offer a bull for sacrifice to take away him own sin and him family sin.

⁷ He go come take the two goats to Tabernacle Tent entrance.

⁸ For there he go use stone separate the goat, one “for God” and the other “for Azazel”.

⁹ Aaron go sacrifice the goat wey he don choose by lot for God and offer am for sin offering.

¹⁰ He go offer the goat wey he don choose for Azazel alive to God, so that e go take away sin of the people.

¹¹ When Aaron sacrifice the bull as sin offering for himself and him family,

¹² he go take a fire pan wey dey full of coal fire from the altar and two full hand of fine incense, and bring them enter the Most Holy Place.

¹³ For God presence there, he go put the incense on the fire, and smoke of the incense go hide the cover of Covenant Box so that he no go see am and die.

¹⁴ He go take some of the bull blood and use him finger sprinkle am for front of the cover and then sprinkle some of am seven times for front of Covenant Box.

¹⁵ After that, he go kill the goat for the people sin offering, bring the goat blood enter Most Holy Place, and sprinkle am for the cover and for front of Covenant Box, as he don do with the bull blood.

¹⁶ Na for this way he go perform ritual wey go make the Most Holy Place clean from sin and uncleanness of Israelites. He go do am for the Tent too, because e dey middle of the camp wey no dey ritually clean.

¹⁷ From the time wey Aaron enter the Most Holy Place to perform purification ritual till he come out, make nobody dey inside Tent. When he don perform the ritual for himself, him family, and the community,

¹⁸ he go come go out to the altar for burnt offering and purify am. He go take some of the bull blood and some of the goat blood and put am all over the projection for corner of the altar.

¹⁹ He go sprinkle some of the blood on the altar seven times with him finger. Na for this way he go purify am from sin of Israelites and make am holy.

²⁰ When Aaron don finish to dey perform ritual to purify Most Holy Place, the rest of Tabernacle Tent, and the altar, he go present the live goat wey he choose for Azazel to God.

²¹ He go put him two hand on the goat head and confess over am all the evil, sin, and rebellion of Israelites, and transfer them to the goat head. He go come drive the goat enter desert by someone wey he go appoint to do am.

²² The goat go carry all their sin away to some place wey nobody dey live.

²³ Aaron go come enter the Tent, take off the priest garment wey he don wear before he enter Most Holy Place, and leave them there.

²⁴ He go bath for holy place and wear him cloth. After that, he go come go out and offer the burnt offering to remove him sin and the people sin.

²⁵ He go burn fat of the animal on top altar for sin offering.

²⁶ The man wey drive the goat enter desert to Azazel must wash him cloth and bath before he come back to camp.

²⁷ The bull and the goat wey he use for sin offering, wey he bring their blood enter the Most Holy Place to take away sin, make dem carry them outside camp and burn them.

²⁸ The person wey burn them must wash him cloth and bath before he come back to camp.

²⁹ Make una dey follow these rules for all time to come. On the tenth day of seventh month, Israelites and foreigners wey dey live among them must fast and make dem no do any work.

³⁰ On that day, make una perform ritual wey go purify them from all their sin, so that dem go dey clean.

³¹ That day go be a very holy day, wey be say dem go fast and no go do any work at all. Make una follow the regulations for all time to come.

³² The High priest wey dem don ordain properly to take over from him father go perform ritual of purification. He go wear the priest garment

³³ and perform the ritual wey go purify the Most Holy Place, the rest of Tabernacle Tent, the altar, the priests, and all people of the community.

³⁴ Make una dey follow this regulation for all time to come. Make una dey perform the ritual once in a year, to purify people of Israel from all their sin. Naso Moses do as God don command.
