Judges 17

¹ E get a man wey him name na Micah, wey live for hill country of Ephraim.

² He tell him mama, when someone steal those 1,100 piece of silver from you, you dey put curse on the thief. I hear say you do am. See, the money dey with me. Na me take am.” Him mama talk say, “God go bless you, my son!”

³ He give the money back to him mama, and she talk say, “To stop the curse to dey fall on top my son, I dey dedicate the silver to God. Dem go use am make the wooden idol cover with silver. So now I go give the silver back to you.”

⁴ Then he give them back to him mama. She con take 200 piece of the silver and give them to metalworkers, wey make idol, dem carve am from wood and dem cover am with the silver. Dem put am for Micah house.

⁵ This man Micah get him own place of worship. He make some idols and ephod, and he con appoint one of him son as him priest.

⁶ No king for Israel that time; all the people just dey do as dem like.

⁷ For that same time a young Levite dey wey don dey live for the town of Bethlehem for Judah.

⁸ He commot for Bethlehem to find another place to dey live. As he dey travel, he come Micah house for the country of Ephraim.

⁹ Micah ask him say, “Where you come from?” He answer say, “I be Levite from Bethlehem in Judah. I dey look for somewhere to live.”

¹⁰ Micah talk say, “Stay with me. Make you be my adviser and priest, and I go dey give you ten pieces of silver a year, some clothes, and your food.”

¹¹ The young Levite con agree to stay with Micah and he become like son to him.

¹² Micah con appoint him as him priest, and he dey live for Micah house.

¹³ Micah talk say, “Now wey I don get Levite as my priest, I know say God go make things go well with me.”
