Judges 15

¹ Some time later Samson go visit him wife during the wheat harvest and he take a young goat go meet her. He tell her papa say, “I wan go my wife room.” But he no allow him go inside.

² He tell Samson say, “I think say you hate her, naso I give her to your friend. But her younger sister fine pass. You fit take her, instead.”

³ Samson talk say, “This time no be me go dey responsible for wetin I do to the Philistines!”

⁴ Naso he commot and go catch 300 foxes. He con tie their tails together, two by two and put torches for the joints.

⁵ He con set fire to the torches and he loose the fox for cornfields of the Philistine. No be only the corn wey dem don harvest he burn this way but also the corn wey still dey for fields, and the olive orchard too.

⁶ When the Philistine ask who don do this, dem find out say na Samson because him papa-in-law, a man from Timnah., don give wife of Samson to Samson friend. Naso the Philistine go burn the woman to death and burn her papa house.

⁷ Samson tell them say, “So na like this una go do! I swear say I no go stop until I pay una back!”

⁸ He attack them strong and kill plenty of them. He con go and stay inside cave for the cliff at Etam.

⁹ The Philistines come and dem make camp for Judah, and dem attack the town of Lehi.

¹⁰ Men of Judah ask them say, “Why una dey attack us?” Dem answer say, “We come take Samson as prisoner and treat him as he don treat us.”

¹¹ Naso 3,000 men of Judah go to the cave in the cliff for Etam and dem tell Samson say, “Shey you no know say Philistines na our ruler? Wetin you don do to us?” He answer say, “Na wetin dem do me I do them.”

¹² Dem talk say, “We don come here to tie you up, so that we fit carry you give them.” Samson talk say, “Make una promise me say una no go kill me by unaselves.”

¹³ Dem talk say, “All right,” “We go only tie you up and hand you over to them. We no go kill you.” Naso dem tie him up with two new ropes and dem bring him back from the cliff.

¹⁴ When he reach Lehi, the Philistine con run meet him, dem dey shout on him. Power of God con make him strong suddenly, and he break the ropes wey round him arms and hands like say dem be thread wey don burn.

¹⁵ He con find a jawbone of a donkey wey just die. He con bend down and pick am up, and he use am kill a thousand men.

¹⁶ Naso Samson sing say, “I don use the jawbone of a donkey kill a thousand men; I don use the jawbone of a donkey pile them up for piles.”

¹⁷ After that, he con throway the jawbone. Na Ramath Lehi dem dey call the place where this happen.

¹⁸ Then Samson dey very thirsty, naso he call God and talk say, “You don give me victory; shey I go con die of thirst and this Philistines wey be unbeliever no go capture me?”

¹⁹ Then God con open a hole for ground for Lehi, and water come from am. Samson drink am and start to dey feel better. So dem name the spring Hakkore; e still dey there for Lehi.

²⁰ Samson lead Israel for 20 years when the Philistines dey rule the land.
