Joshua 3

¹ Early next morning, Joshua and Israelites packed their load and dem leave Acacia. Dem go Jordan River and dem camp for there that night.

² Two days later, their leader go through the camp and begin dey shout

³ And say, “When una see some of the priests dey carry the Covenant Box of the LORD una God, una go know say e don reach time to cross go other side.

⁴ Una never reach there before, so una no go know the way, unless una follow the Box. But make una no near the Covenant Box; make una stay behind for about 1 kilometer.

⁵ Joshua tell the people say, “Make una dey clean, because God go perform miracle among una tomorrow.”

⁶ Then he tell the priests make dem take the Covenant Box and begin dey go for front of people. Naso the priests do wetin he talk.

⁷ God tell Joshua say, “Wetin I do today go make all Israelites begin dey honor you as a great man, and dem go know say I dey with you, like I dey with Moses.

⁸ Tell the priests wey dey carry the Covenant Box make dem enter the river small and stand for there.”

⁹ Joshua con tell the people say, “Come here and hear wetin the LORD una God talk say he go do!

¹⁰ The Canaanites, Hittites, Hivites, Perizzites, Gargashites, Amorites, and Jebusites, na dem dey control the land for other side of the river. But the living God go dey with una and force them out when una attack. And now, God go prove say he dey powerful to force them out.

¹¹ Make una just dey watch the Covenant Box wey belong to God, the ruler of the whole world.

¹² As the priests wey dey carry the Box enter the Jordan River, the water go stop to dey flow and pile up like say person don build dam across the river.

¹³ God don also talk say make each of the twelve tribes choose one man wey go represent am.

¹⁴ The Israelites pack their load and leave the camp. The priests wey dey carry the Covenant Box dey waka for front,

¹⁵ until dem reach Jordan River. The water wey dey the river side don rise up, as e dey always do for springtime. But as the priests foot touch the water,

¹⁶ the water stop to dey flow, and the water start to dey pile up for Adam town near Zarethan.

¹⁷ No water dey flow go Dead Sea side, and the priests stand for middle of the dry riverbed near Jericho and everybody else dey cross go other side.
