Jeremiah 8

“For that time I go remove the bone of king and the official of Judah, and bone of the priest, prophet, and other people wey dey live for Jerusalem from their grave.

Instead make dem gather and bury them, their bone go be like manure wey dey lie for ground. I go spread them out for inside sun, the moon, and the star wey these people don love and serve, and wey dem don go meet and worship.

And people of this evil nation wey survive, wey dey live for the place wey I scatter them, go like to die pass make dem live. I, the LORD Almighty, don talk.

God tell me make I tell him people, “Shey if person fall down, shey he no dey stand up? If person miss road, shey he no go turn back?

Why then, una wey be my people, turn away from me and no wan turn back? Una don hold on to una idols and no gree return to me.

I hear am well, but una no speak truth. Anyone of una never dey sorry for him wickedness; no one of una don ask, ‘Wetin I don do wrong?’ Everybody just dey go him own way, like horse wey dey rush go battle.

Even stork know when hin suppose return; doves, swallows, and thrushes know when time don reach to move. But, my people, una no know the law wey I dey use rule una.

How una fit talk say una wise, and say una know my law? Look, dishonest writers don change the law.

Shame don catch una wise men; them dey confused and trapped. Dem don reject my word; which kind wisdom dem don get now?

I go carry their field give new owner and I go carry their wives give other men. Everyone, great and small, dey try make money for way wey no pure. Even prophet and priest dey cheat the people.

Dem do like say my people wound na only scratch. Dem say, ‘All go better, when e no better.’

My people, shey shame catch una because una do bad things? No, una no shame at all; una no even know how to dey form! And so una go fall as others don fall; when I punish una, and e go be end of una. I, the LORD, don talk.

“I wan gather my people, as farmer dey gather harvest; but dem be like vine wey no get grape, like fig wey no get fruits; even the leave don dry. Therefore, I don allow outsiders take over the land.

People of God ask say, “Why we still dey sit?”. “come on, we go run go strong city, and we go die for there. The LORD our God don condemn us to die; he don give us poison make we drink, because we don sin again him.

We dey hope for peace and time of healing but e no get use; instead, na terror come.

Our enemy don dey city of Dan already; we dey hear sound of their horse. All the land dey shake for sound of their horse. Our enemy don come to destroy our land and everything wey dey inside, our city and all hin people.”

God say, “Make una watch out!”, “I dey send snake among una, snake wey get poison wey una no fit charm, and dem go bite una.”

I dey sick for heart; una no fit heal my sorrow.

Listen! For all the land I hear my people dey cry out, “Shey God no dey Zion again? Shey king of Zion no dey there again?” The LORD, their God, reply say, “Why una don make me vex as una dey worship una idols and dey bow down for una useless foreign gods?”

People cry out say, “The summer don go, the harvest don finish, but we never dey save.”

My heart don break because my people don suffer; I mourn, I dey fear.

Shey medicine no dey for Gilead again? Shey doctor no dey for there? Why my people never get healing?
