Jeremiah 33

As I still dey for prison in the courtyard, God message come to me again.

God, wey make earth, wey form am and set am in place, follow me talk. Him wey him name na the LORD talk say,

“Make you call on me and I go answer you; I go tell you wonderful and marvelous things wey you no know anything about.

I, the LORD, the God of Israel, talk say the houses of Jerusalem and the royal palace of Judah go destroy because of siege and attack.

Some go fight against Babylonians, and dem go fill the houses with the dead body of those wey I go strike down with my great anger. I don turn away from this city because of the evil things wey hin people don do.

But I go heal this city and him people and I go bring them back to health. I go show them enough peace and security.

I go make Judah and Israel prosper, and I go rebuild them as dem dey before.

I go make them pure from the sin wey dem don commit against me, and I go forgive their sins and their strong-head.

Jerusalem go be source of joy, honour, and pride to me; and every nation in the world go fear and shake when dem hear about good things wey I don do for people of Jerusalem and about the prosperity wey I bring to the city.”

God talk say, “People dey say this place be like desert, wey people or animal no dey live inside am. And dem dey right; the towns of Judah and the Jerusalem streets dey empty: no people or animal dey live for there. But in these places una go hear

Shouts of gladness and joy again and una go hear happy sound of wedding party. Una go hear people dey sing as dem dey bring thankoffering to my Temple; dem go say, ‘Make we give thanks to the LORD Almighty, because he dey good and him love no dey end.’ I go make this land dey prosper as e dey before. I, the LORD, don talk.”

Almighty God talk say, “For this land wey be like desert and where people and animal no dey live, grass go dey again where shepherd fit take their sheeps.

For the Town of hill country, for foothill, and for southern Judah, for territory of Benjamin, for village round Jerusalem, and for town of Judah, shepherd go count their sheep again. I, the LORD, don talk.”

God say, “The time dey come when I go fulfil the promise wey I make with people of Israel and Judah.

For that time I go choose righteous descendat of David as king. That king go do wetin dey right and good throughout the land.

The people of Judah and Jerusalem go be rescued and dem go live in safety. Dem go call the city ‘The LORD Our Salvation.’

I, the LORD, promise say a descendant of David go always dey to be king of Israel.

And say priest go always dey from tribe of Levi to serve me and to offer burnt offering, grain offering, and sacrifices.”

God tell me say,

“I don make covenant with day and night, so that dem go always come at their right time; and that covenant no fit break.

For same way I don make covenant with my servant David say he go always get descendant to be king, and I don make covenant with the priest from the Levi tribe say dem go always serve me; and those covenant no fit break.

I go increase the number of descendant of my servant David and I go increase the number of priest from Levi tribe, so that e no go dey possible to count them as e no dey possible to count the stars wey dey sky, or the grain of sand wey dey beside sea.”

God tell me say,

“Shey you don notice how people dey talk say I don reject Israel and Judah, the two family wey I don choose? And so dem look my people with hatred and dem no think of them as nation again.

But I, the LORD, get covenant with day and night, and I don make law wey dey control earth and sky.

As I don do this for sure, naso I go maintain my covenant with descendant of Jacob and with my servant David. I go chose one out of descendant of David to rule over the the descendant of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. I go dey merciful to my people and I go make them prosper again.”
