Jeremiah 15

¹ God tell me say, “Even if moses and Samuel dey stand here dey beg me, I no go show mercy on top this people. Make dem go away, make dem commot for my sight.

² When dem ask you where dem suppose go, tell them I don talk say: some na disease go kill them – na their own portion be that! Others na for war dem go die – na their own portion be that! Some go die by anger - naso dem go die! Others dem go take them away like prisoner - naso e go be!

³ I, the LORD, don talk say four terrible things go happen to them: dem go die for war; dogs go drag their body commot; bird go chop them, and wild animal go chop wetin remain.

⁴ I go make people of the world scare them because of wetin Manasseh son of Hezekiah don do for Jerusalem when he be king for Judah.”

⁵ God talk say, who go pity una, people of Jerusalem and who go mourn over una? Who go fit stop and ask how una dey?

⁶ Una don reject me; una don turn una back on me. Naso I stretch out my hand and destroy una because I don tire to dey control my anger.

⁷ I go throw una to wind like straw for every town wey dey the land. My people, I don destroy una, I don kill una children, because una no stop una evil way.

⁸ Plenty widow dey the land pass grain of sand for sea. I kill una young men when dem don mature and suffer their mother. Na pain and horror I take hit them.

⁹ The woman wey lost her seven children don faint, she dey breathe fast. Her daylight don turn darkness; shame don catch her and she no dey happy. I go allow una enemy to kill una wey still dey alive. I, the LORD, don talk.”

¹⁰ Na man wey no dey happy I be! Why my mother bring me come this world? I go quarrel and argue with everybody for the land. I never lend money or borrow money: yet everybody dey accuse me.

¹¹ God, may all their curses come through if I no serve you well, if I never beg you because of my enemy when dem dey for trouble and pain.

¹³ God tell me say, “I go send enemy make dem carry wealth and treasure of my people commot, so I go fit punish them for the sin wey dem don commit throughout the land.

¹⁴ I go make them serve their enemy for the land wey dem no know anything about, because my anger be like fire, and e go burn for ever.”

¹⁵ Then I talk say, “God, na you understand. Remember me and help me. Make I get revenge on top those people wey trouble me. Make you no get patience on them so that dem no go succeed to kill me. Remember say dem insult me because of you.

¹⁶ You follow me talk, and I listen to everything wey you tell me, I be your own, LORD Almighty God, and so your world full for my heart with joy and happiness.

¹⁷ I no spend my time with other people, to dey laugh and dey enjoy. To obey your order I dey stay on my own and anger fill me.

¹⁸ Why I go continue dey suffer? Why my wound no get cure? Why dem no go heal? Shey you don plan to disappoint me like stream wey dry for summer?”

¹⁹ God con reply to this say, “If you return, I go take you back, and you go be my servant again. If instead make you dey talk nonsense you go dey tell good messages, you go be my prophet again. The people go come back to you and you no go need to go meet them.

²⁰ I go make you like solid bronze wall as long as e be their matter. Dem go fight against you but dem no go defeat you. I go be with you to protect you and to keep you safe.

²¹ I go rescue you from the power of wicked and violent people. I, the LORD, don talk.”
