Isaiah 64

¹ Why you no tear the sky make you con come down? The mountains go see you and dem go shake with fear.

² Dem go shake like water wey dem dey boil on top hot fire. Come make you reveal your power to your enemies, and make the nation shake for your presence!

³ E get a time wey you come do terrible things wey we no expect; the mountain see you and fear catch them.

⁴ No one don see or hear about the kind God wey you be before, wey dey do this kind thing for people wey put their hope in him.

⁵ You welcome those wey find joy to dey do right thing, those wey remember how you wan make them live. You dey vex with us, but we continue to dey sin; despite your great anger we don continue to dey do wrong since old times.

⁶ All of us don sin; even our best action no pure.dem be like grass, Our sin don make us dey like leave wey don dry wey wind don blow commot.

⁷ No one dey turn to you for prayer; no one dey ask you for help. You don hide yourself from us and you don abandon us because of our sins.

⁸ But you be our father, God. We be like clay, and you be like potter. Na you create us,

⁹ So make you no too vex with us or hold our sin against us forever. We be your people; dey merciful on us.

¹ Your holy cities be like desert; Jerusalem don turn empty place,

¹ And fire don destroy our Temple, the holy and beautiful place where our ancestor dey praise you. All the places wey we love don destroy.

¹ God, shey all this no move you? Shey you no go do anything and make us suffer wetin we fit endure?
