Isaiah 45

¹ God don choose Cyrus make he be king! He don appoint him make he defeat nations; he don send him make he go remove king from power, God go open the gate of cities for him. God tell Cyrus say,

² “I go prepare your way by myself, I go level mountains and hills. I go break bronze down and I go smash their iron bar.

³ I go give you your treasure from dark, secret places; then you go know say I be the LORD, and you go know say the God of Israel don call you by name.

⁴ I choose you make you help my servant Israel, the people wey I don choose. I don give you great honour, although you no know me.

⁵ “I be the LORD; other god no dey. I go give you strength wey you need, although you no know me.

⁶ I don do this so that everyone from one end of the world fit know say I be the LORD and other god no dey.

⁷ Na me create light and darkness; na me bring blessing and disaster. I, the LORD, na me do all these things.

⁸ I go send victory from sky like rain; the earth go open to receive am and e go grow with freedom and justice. I, the LORD, I go make this happen.”

¹ I don put Cyrus to action by myself make he fulfill my purpose and make he put things right. I make every road wey he dey travel straight. He go rebuild my city, Jerusalem, and he go set my people free. No one don hire or bribe him say make he do this.” The LORD Almighty don talk.

¹ God tell Israel say, “the Wealth of Egypt and Ethiopia go be una own, and tall men of Seba go be una slaves; dem go follow una in chains. Dem go bow down to you and confess say, ‘God dey with you – na only him be God.

¹ The God of Israel, wey save him people, e be God wey dey hide himself.

¹ Shame go catch all those wey make idols; shame go catch all of them.

¹ But God don save Israel, and her victory dey last forever; shame no go catch her people.’”

¹ Na the LORD create heaven- na him be the one wey be God! Na him form and make earth- he make am strong and e dey last. He no make am empty waste, but a place for people to dey live. Na him talk say, I be the LORD, and other god no dey.

¹ I never speak for secret or hide my purpose. I no ask people of Israel dey find me for empty place. I be the LORD, and I dey speak truth; I dey let people know wetin dey right.”

² God talk say, make una come together people of the nations, all wey survive the fall of the empire; make una present unaselves for the case! The people wey match with their wood idols and pray to gods wey no fit save them- those people no know anything at all!

² Make una come and present una case for court; make the accused meet one another. Who don predict wetin go happen long ago? Shey no be I, the LORD, the God wey save him people? Other god no dey.

² People wey dey all over the world! Make una turn to me now and dey safe, I be the only God wey dey.

² “Dem go talk say na only through me person fit find victory and strength; but all those wey hate me go suffer disgrace.
