Isaiah 37

¹ As king Hezekiah hear their report, he use sorrow take tear him clothes, and wear sackclothes, and go Temple of God.

² He con send Eliakim, the official wey dey in charge of the palace, Shebna, the court secretary, and the senior priest go meet prophet Isaiah son of Amoz. Dem dey wear sackcloth too.

³ Na the message wey he tell them make dem give Isaiah be this: “Today na day of suffering; we dey under punishment and shame dey catch us. We be like women wey dey ready to give birth, but she too weak to do am.

⁴ The emperor of Assyrian don send him chief official make he insult the living God. May the LORD your God hear the insult and punish those wey speak them. So make you pray to your God for our people wey survive.”

⁵ When Isaiah don receive king Hezekiah message,

⁶ He con send back him answer say: “God tell you say make you no allow Assyrian scare you with their claim say he no fit save una.

⁷ God go make the emperor hear rumor wey go make him go back him own country, and God go kill him for there.”

⁸ The Assyrian hear say the emperor don commot from Lachish and he dey fight against nearby city of Libnah; naso he con go there go consult him.

⁹ Word come meet Assyrian say Egyptian army, wey king Tirhakah of Ethiopia lead, dey come attack them. When the emperor hear this, he con send letter to king Hezekiah

¹ Of Judah and tell him say, “The gods wey you dey trust don tell you say you no go fall for my hands, but make you no allow that deceive you.

¹ You don hear about wetin Assyrian emperor dey do to any country wey he decide say he go destroy. Shey you think say you fit escape?

¹ My ancestor destroy cities of Goan, Haran, and Rezeph, and dem kill the people of Betheden wey dey live for Telassar, and none of their god fit save them.

¹ Wey kings of the cities of Hamath, Arpad, Sepharvaim, Hena, and Ivvah?”

¹ King Hezekiah collect the letter from the messenger and read am. Then he con go to the Temple, and put the letter for there for God presence,

¹ And pray say,

¹ “Almighty LORD, God of Israel, your throne dey above the creature wey get wings, na only you be God,wey dey rule all the kingdoms of the world. Na you create the earth and the sky.

¹ God, hear us and see wetin dey happen to us now. Hear to all the things wey Sennacherib dey say to insult you, the living God.

¹ God, all of us know say emperor of Assyria don destroy plenty nations, and empty their land,

¹ And burn their gods-wey no be god at all, dem only be images of wood and stone wey human make.

² Now, LORD our God, make you rescue us from Assyeians, so that all nations of the world go know say na only you be God.”

² Then Isaiah con send message give Hezekiah wey be the answer to the king prayer

² God don say, “City of Jerusalem dey laugh at you , sennacherib, and them dey use you play.

² Who you think say you dey insult ? You don disrespect me, the holy God of Israel.

² You send your servant make dem brag to me say you don conquer the highest mountain of Lebanon with your chariot. You brag say you cut down tallest cedar and cypress tree wey find pass, and say you reach deepest part of the forest.

² You brag say you dig well and say you drink water for foreign land, and say the feet of your soldiers don match River Nile dry.

² “Shey you never hear say I don plan this for long? And now I don carry am out. I don give you power make you turn strong wall to pile of rubble.

² The people wey dey live for there no get power; dem fear and shock. Dem be like grass for field or weed wey dey grow on top roof when hot east wind blast them.

² “But I know everything about you, wetin you do and where you go.i know how u deyy get temper against me

² I don receive the report of your temper and pride, and now I go put hook for your nose and put bit for your mouth and I go take you back through the road wey you follow come.”

³ Then Isaiah con tell king Hezekiah say,”Na sign of wetin go happen be this. This year and next na only get wild grain you go get to chop, but the following year you go fit plant your corn and harvest am, and you go plant vines and chop grapes.

³ Those in Judah wey survive go prosper like plant wey send root deep go ground and produce fruit.

³ People go dey for Jerusalem and on top Mount Zion wey go survive, because Almighty God don make up him mind to make this happen.

³ “Na wetin God don say about Assyria emperor be this: ‘He no go enter this city or shoot single arrow against am. No soldier with shield go come near the city, and dem no go fit build baricade mountain around am.

³ He go run back through the road wey he follow come, and he no go fit enter the city. I, the LORD, don talk.

³ I go defend this city and protect am, because of my honour and promise wey I don make to my servant David.’”

³ Angel of God con go Assyrian camp and kill 185,000 soldiers. next morning for there all of them don die for ground!

³ Then Assyrian emperor Sennacherib con withdraw and return go Nineveh.

³⁸ One day when he dey worship for temple of him gods Nisroch, two of him son, Adrammelech and Sharezer, con kill him with their sword and then dem escape go land of Ararat.another of him son, Esarhaddon, con become emperor after him.
