Isaiah 3

¹ Now the lord, the Almighty LORD, wan take away everything and everyone wey people depend on from Jerusalem and Judah. Him wan take their food and water away,

² Them horses and them soldiers, them judge and them prophet, them fortune teller and statemen,

³ Them military and them leaders, them politician, and everyone wey use magic to dey control things.

⁴ God wan allow small boy wey never grow well rule them.

⁵ Everyone go take advantage of everyone else. Young people no go respect their elders, and useless people no go respect their superiors.

⁶ Time dey come when member of group go choose one person and them go tell him say, "You seff get something wey you fit wear, so make you be our leader for this time of trouble."

⁷ But he go talk say, "No be me! I no fit help una. I no get any food or clothe too. Make una no make me leader!"

⁸ Yes, Jerusalem don enter trouble! Judah don collapse! Everything dem say or do na against God; dem dey insult God himself for open.

⁹ Their partiality go be hold against them. Dem sin for open like people of Sodom don sin. Dem don enter trouble, and na dem don bring am on top themselves.

¹⁰ The righteous go dey happy and things go dey go well for them. Dem go dey enjoy wetin dem don work for.

¹¹ evil people don enter trouble; wetin dem don do to others na so them go do to dem also.

¹² Moneylenders dey oppress my people, and their creditors dey cheat them. My people, una leaders dey mislead una, so that una no go fit know the way to turn.

¹³ God don ready to state him case, he don ready to judge him people.

¹⁴ God dey bring the leaders and the ruler of him people to judgement. He don make this accusation: "Una don rob vineyards, and una house don dey full of wetin una take from people wey poor.

¹⁵ Una no get right to crush my people and una no get right to use the poor anyhow. I, the sovereign LORD Almighty, don talk."

¹⁶ God talk say, "See how pride women of Jerusalem be! Dem dey waka with their nose in the air. Dem always dey flirt. Dem dey take fine little step and the bracelet for their ankle dey jingle.

¹⁷ But I go punish them - I go shave their head and dem no go get hair."

¹⁸ A day dey come wey God go take away everything wey dem dey proud of from women of Jerusalem - the ornament wey dem dey wear for dem ankle, for dem head, for dem neck,

¹⁹ and dem wrist. He go take them cover away

²⁰ and dem hats; the magic charm wey dem wear for dem arms and for dem waists;

²¹ The ring wey dem wear on their fingers and for their nose;

²² All their fine robes, gown, cloak, and purses;

²³ Their revealing garment, their linen handkerchief, and the scarve and long cover wey dem wear on their head.

²⁴ Dem go smell, instead of using perfume; instead of fine belts, dem go wear bad rope; instead make dem get beautiful hair, dem no go get hair; instead of fine clothes, dem go dey wear rag; their beauty go turn shame!

²⁵ The men wey dey the city, yes, even the strongest man, go die for war.

²⁶ The city gate go mourn and cry, and the city hinself go be like woman wey sit down naked for ground.
