Isaiah 29

¹ Jerusalem wey be Altar of God, don enter trouble! The city where David camp don enter trouble! Make another year or two come and go, with hin feast and festival,

² And then God go bring disaster on the city wey dem dey call “Altar of God”. Crying and complain go dey, and the whole city go be like altar when blood cover .

³ God go attack the city, he go surround am, and go block am.

⁴ Jerusalem go be like ghost wey dey struggle to speak from under ground, low voice wey dey come from the dust.

⁵ Jerusalem all foreigner wey attack una go blow away like dust, their wicked amy go fly away like straw. Suddenly and when person no expect

⁶ Almighty God go rescue una with violent thunderstorms and earthquakes. He go send storm and terrible fire;

⁷ Then all armies of the nation wey dey attack the city of God alter, all their weapon and equipment-everything-go disappear like dream, like something wey person think about for night.

⁸ All nation wey garther to attack Jerusalem go be like hungry person wey dream say he dey chop and come wake dey hungry, or like person wey dey die of thirst who dream say he dey drink and con wake up with dry throat.

⁹ Make una continue to dey stupid! Make una continue to dey blind! Make una get drunk without any wine! Make una stagger without a drop of drink!

¹ God don make una dey doze off, he don make una ready to fall enter deep sleep. Na the prophet suppose be eyes of the people , but God don cover their eyes.

¹ God talk say, “These people say dem dey worship me, but their word no get meaning, and na another place their hearts dey. Na human rules and tradition rules be their religion, wey dem don put for head.

¹ I go scared them with one blow wey dem no expect after another. Those wey wise go turn to fool, and all their smartness go dey useless.”

¹ Those wey dey try hide their plans from God don enter trouble! Dem carry out their plans for secret and dem think say no one go see them or dem think say no one go know wetin dem dey do.

¹ Dem turn everything for upside down. Which one dey more important pass, shey na the potter or the clay? Shey something wey someone don make tell hin maker say, “no be you make me”? “or You no know wetin you dey do”?

¹ Na the truth be this, after a very short time lebannon go become rich farmland and the farmland go be like thick forest.

¹ Poor and humble go find happiness again wey the LORD, holy God of Israel, dey give.

² God go punish those wey dey lie about others, those wey prevent punishment of criminal, and those wey dey tell lie so that honest men no go get justice.

² So now the LORD, God of Israel, wy rescue Abraham from trouble, talk say, “My people, shame no go catch una again, and una faces go be pale with shame again.

² When una see the children wey I go give una, then una go apprieciate say I be the holy God of Israel. Una go honour me and una go stand to respect of me.

² Foolish people go learn to understand and those wey dey always complain go dey happy to learn.”
