Isaiah 19

¹ Na message about Egypt be this. God dey come to Egypt, he dey ride fast on top cloud. Idols of Egyptians dey shake for him front, and people of Egypt dey lose their courage.

² God talk say, “I go start civil war for Egypt and turn brother against brother and turn neighbor against neighbor. Rivals city go fight each other, and rival king go struggle for power.

³ I go frustrate the plan of Egyptians. Dem go ask their idols shey make e help them, and dem go run meet mediams and ask the spirit of the dead make e advice them.

⁴ I go hand over people of Egypt give oppressor, to a wicked king wey go rule them. I, the LORD Almighty, don talk.”

⁵ The water go dey low for Nile, and the rivers go dry up.

⁶ As dem dey dry slow the channel of the river go dey smell. Reeds and rushes go dry,

⁷ And all the crops wey dem plant along the bank of Nile go dry up and blow away.

⁸ Everyone wey dey get money from fishing from the Nile go dey inside sorrow and cry; their hook and net go dey useless.

⁹ Those wey dey make linen cloth no go get hope;

¹⁰ Those wey dey weave and skilled workers go dey discourage and sad.

²⁰ Dem go be symbol for presence Almighty God for Egypt. When people wey dey there dey oppress and call God for help, he go send person make he rescue them.

²¹ God go show himself to people of Egypt, and dem go accept and worship him, and dem go bring sacrifice and offering to him. Dem go promise him and dem go do wetin dem don promise.

²² God go punish the Egyptians, but then he go heal them. Dem go turn to him and he go hear their prayers and he go heal them.

²³ When that time come, highway go dey between Egypt and Assyria. People wey dey the two country go dey travel up and down between them, and the two nations go dey worship together.

²⁴ When that time come, Israel go dey same rank with Egypt and Assyria, and these three nations go be blessing to all the world.

²⁵ Almighty God go bless them and talk say, “I go bless you, Egypt, my people; you, Assyria, wey I create; and you, Israel, people wey I don chosen.”
