Isaiah 14

¹ God go dey merciful to him people Israel again and he go choose them as him own. He go allow them to dey live for their own land again, and foreigners go come and live for there with them.

² Plenty nations go help Israel return to their land wey God don give them, and the nations go serve Israel for there as slaves. Israel go capture those wey don capture dem before, and people of Israel go rule over those people wey don oppress them before.

³ God go relief people of Israel from their pain and suffering, and from the hardwork wey dem force them to do.

⁴ When he don do this, make them mock king of Babylon and talk say: “The wicked king don fall! He no go fit oppress anybody again!

⁵ God don end the power of evil rulers

⁶ Wey use vex to dey oppress people and wey no dey stop to dey oppress the nations wey dem don defeat.

⁷ Now at last the whole world dey enjoy rest and peace, and everyone dey sing for joy.

⁸ The cypress trees and the cedars of Lebanon dey rejoice because the king don fall, because nobody go dey cut them down again, now wey he don go!

⁹ “the world of the dead don dey ready to welcome king of Babylonia. the ghost of those wey dey powerful on earth dey move about. The ghost of kigs dey rise from their thrones.

¹⁰ Dem dey call am out say “Now you don weak as we dey! You be one of us!

¹⁶ “The dead go dey look you. Dem go ask say, “Shey na the man wey shake the earth and wey make kingdom shake be this?

¹⁷ Shey na the man wey destroy cities and turn world go desert be this? Shey na the man wey no dey free prisoners or allow them go home be this?’

¹⁸ All kings of the earth dey lie for their beautiful grave,

¹⁹ But you no get grave, and dem throw your corpse out make e rot. Na dead body of soldiers wey die for battle cover am, dem throw am with them inside pit, and crush them down.

²⁰ Because you don destroy your country and you don kill your people, dem no go bury you like other kings. Nno one for your evil family go survive.

²¹ Make the killing start! Sons of this king go die because of the sins of their ancestors. None of them go ever rule the earth or cover am with cities.”

²² Almighty God talk say, “I go attack Babylon and I go destroy am. I no go leave anything- no children, no one go survive at all. I, the LORD, don talk.

²³ I go turn Babylon to swamp, and owls go live for there. I go sweep babaylon with broom wey go sweep everything away. I, the LORD Almighty, don talk.”

²⁴ Almighty God don swear say: “Wetin I don plan go happen. I go do wetin I don determine say I go do.

²⁵ I go destroy Assyria in my land of Israel and I go match them on top my mountains. I go free my people from the yoke of Assyrian and the burden wey dem suppose bear.

²⁶ Na my plan for the world be this, and my arm dey stretch out to punish the nations.”

²⁷ Almighty God don decide say na wetin him go do be this; he don stretch out him hand to punish, and no one fit stop him.

²⁸ Na the message wey he declare in the year wey king Ahaz die be this.

²⁹ People of Philistine the rod wey dey beat una don break, but una no get reason to dey happy. When one snake dey die, the one wey worse go come replace am. Egg of snake dey hatch flying dragon.

³⁰ God go be shepherd to the poor of him people and he go let them live in safety. But he go send terrible hunger on top una Philistines, and e no go leave any of una alive.

³¹ Philistine cities, make una cry and cry for help! Make una fear, all of una! Cloud of dust dey come from the north- na army wey fear no dey hin ranks.

³² How we go answer the messenger wey come to us from Philistia? We go tell them say God don establish Zion and say him people wey dey suffer go find safety for there.
