Hosea 12

¹ Everything wey people of Israel do from morning to night na waste of time. Deceit and violence dey increase among them. Dem make agreement with Assyria and dem do business with Egypt."

² God get complain against people of Judah; he go even punish people of Israel for the way wey her people do. He go pay them back for wetin dem don do.

³ Their ancestor Jacob struggle with him twin brother wey be Esau when two of them is dey for their mama belle; Jacob fight against God, when he grow up -

⁴ He fight angel and win. He cry and ask for blessing. And for Bethel God come meet our ancestor Jacob and follow him talk say.

⁵ This na the LORD God Almighty- the LORD be the name wey una go dey take worship him.

⁶ So now, descendant of Jacob, make una trust una God and return to him make una dey loyal and just, and make una wait patiently for una God to act.

⁷ God talk say, "People of Israel no dey honest like people of Canaan; dem like to dey cheat their customer with false scale.

⁸ Dem talk say, "We dey rich. We don get luck. And no one fit accuse us say we get rich for way wey no dey right."

⁹ But I, the LORD una God wey lead una commot for Egypt, I go make una live for tent again, as una live when I come meet una for desert.

¹⁰ "I speak to prophet and give them plenty vision, and I give my people warning through the prophet.
