Genesis 24
1 Now Abraham don old and God don bless him for every way.
2 One day, Abraham tell the oldest servant wey dey in charge of him house say, "put your hand between my laps make you take a vow."
3 I wan make you swear by name of God of heaven and earth say, "You no go allow my son marry any local Canaan woman.
4 You go travel go my country and get a wife for my son, Isaac, from my family." 5But the servant ask say, "What if the woman no wan follow me come this land? Make I send your son go back the country wey you come from?".
6 Abraham come answer say, "make sure say you no send my son go back there.
7 Na the LORD, God of heaven bring me from my father house and my family land, and he promised me say he go give this land to my descendants. He go send him angel with you so that you go fit get wife for my son there.
8 If the young woman no wan follow you come, you go dey free from the promise. But make you no take my son go back there for no reason.
9 Naso the servant put him hand between Abraham laps, and he make a vow to do wetin Abraham don ask.
10 The servant wey dey in charge of Abraham properties come take ten of him master camels, and he go to the city wey Nahor don live for western Mesopotamia.
11 When he reach there he make the camel kneel down for well wey dey outside the city. Na afternoon time when woman dey come out come get water.
12 He come pray, "LORD, God of my master Abraham, give me success today and keep your promise to my master.
13 I dey here at the well wey women dey come get water for the city.
14 I go tell one of them say, "Abeg, lower your jar make I drink water." If she say, "Drink, and I go also bring water for your camel," na she go be the one wey you don choose for your servant Isaac. If e happens like this, I go know say you don keep your promise to my master.
15 Before him finish to dey pray, Rebecca come with water jar for her shoulder. Na she be the daughter of Bethuel, who be the son of Abraham brother Nahor and him wife Milcah.
16 She be very beautiful young woman and she still be virgin, she come go to the well to fill jar and she come back,
17 The servant run go meet her and he say, "Abeg give me water to drink.
18 She con lower her jar and she give him water to drink.
19 When he don finish, she say, I go also bring water for your camels, so that dem fit drink as dem want.
20 She come empty her jar for the animal to drink and she go back to the well to get more water until she don give all the camel water. 21The man dey watch her to know whether God don give am success.
22 When she don finish, the man put gold ring wey dey very cost for her nose and two large gold bracelet for her hand.
23 He say, "Abeg tell me who your father be. Shey he get room for me and my men to spend the night?"
24 She come answer say, "My father na Bethuel, son of Nahor and Milcah.
26 Yes, we get plenty place wey camel fit stay and we get room for you and your men. 26The man come bow down and he worship God.
27 He say, "Praise the LORD, God of my master Abraham. God don show him love and faithfulness to my master, because he don lead me straight to my master family.
28 The young woman come run go home to tell her family everything wey don happen.
29 Rebeccah get a brother wey dem dey call Laban. He con run out go meet the man way dey by the well.
30 He don see the nose ring and the bracelet wey dey Rebecca hand, and he hear wetin Rebecca talk say the man don talk. Naso he run go the well wey the man dey stand beside him camels.
31 Laban con tell him say, "Come stay with us. You wey God don bless. Why you dey stand outside the town when I get a room for you and I don prepare a place for your camels?
32 Naso the man go home with Laban, and Laban put the camels for where dem go dey and he feed them. And him provide water for the man and the people wey dey ride camel to wash their feet.
33 Dem come give them food, but Abraham servant say, "I no wan eat until I tell you wetin bring me come here." Laban say "Okay, tell us."
34 He come begin dey explain, "I be Abraham servant
35 and God don bless my master very well, he don become very rich. God don give him plenty sheep and goat, plenty cattle, riches for silver and gold, male and female servant, with camel and donkey.
36 When Sarah, my master wife dey very old, she born a son to my master.
37 My master say, make I take a vow say I no go allow him son marry any local Canaanite woman.
38 Go my father house, to my family and go find a wife for my son.
39 But I tell my master say, "what if I no find any young woman wey go follow me come back?"
40 He answer me, "God wey I don live for him presence go send him angel with you, and he go make your journey successful. You go find wife for my son from among my relative wey dey my father family.
41 Na only one thing go dey for you to dey free from your vow: If you go meet my family and dem no gree, then you go dey free.
42 When I reach well today I come pray say, "LORD, God of my master Abraham, abeg give me success for wetin I wan do,
43 I dey well side. When a young woman come out to get water, I go ask her say make she give me water to drink from her jar.
44 If she gree and she also bring water for my camel, na she go be the one wey you don choose for my master son .
45 Before I finished to dey pray, Rebecca just show with water jar for her shoulder and she go down go get water for the well. I come tell her say, "abeg give me water to drink."
46 She come lower her jar from her shoulder say, "drink and I go also bring water for your camel." Naso I drink, and she give water to my camel.
47 I ask her who her father be, and she answer say, "my father na Bethuel son of Nahor and Milcah," then I put ring for her nose and bracelet for her hand.
48 I kneel down and worship God. I praise the LORD, God of my master Abraham, who don lead me straight to my master family, wey I come find him daughter for my master son.
49 So tell me if you go show faithfulness to my master. Abeg tell me Yes or No, so that I go know wetin to do next."
50 Laban and Bethuel come reply say, "God don really bring you come here, so, we no get anything to say.
51 Na Rebecca be this, take her and dey go, make she be the wife of your master son, as God don direct."
52 When Abraham servant hear their answer, he bow down to ground and he worship God.
53 He come bring silver and Gold jewelry and cloth, and he present them to Rebecca. He come also give her brother and mother expensive gift.
54 Dem come eat their food. The servant and the men wey dey with him come stay for the night. But for early morning, Abraham servant say, "Send me back to my master."
55 But her brother and mother come say, "Allow make Rebecca stay with us for at least ten days, then she fit follow you go.
56 But he reply say, no delay me. God don make my mission dey successful: allow me go back meet my master.
57 Dem con say, "We go call Rebecca and ask her wetin dey her mind." Naso dem ask Rebecca, "Shey you fit go with this man? And she reply say, "Yes, I fit go."
59 Naso dem allow Rebecca and her old family servant go with Abraham servant and him men.
60And dem give Rebecca their blessings say, "You go become mother of millions and your descendants go defeat the city of their enemies."
61 Rebecca and her female servant come climb camel, and dem follow the man. Naso Abraham servant take Rebecca and go him way.
62 Isaac don come inside desert of "The Well of the Living One wey see me", and he stay for southern part of Canaan.
63 He come go out for evening to dey work inside field, and he dey see as camels dey come.
64 When Rebecca see Isaac, she come down from camel.
65 and she ask Abraham servant say, "Who be that man wey dey walk towards us inside field?" The servant come answer say, "Na him be my master." Na so she take her scarf and she cover her face.
66 The servant con tell Isaac everything wey him don do.
67 Isaac come take Rebecca inside the tent wey him mother don live before, and she become him wife. Isaac love Rebecca so much and na she dey comfort him after him mother don die.
