Genesis 16

¹ Abram wife, Sarai never born pikin for him, but she get one Egyptian servant Hagar.

² Sarai come tell Abram say, "God never allow me get pikin, go sleep with my servant, maybe I fit get pikin through her. Abram come agree to wetin Sarai talk.

³ Naso Sarai take give Hagar to Abram as wife. Na ten years after Abram don settle for Canaan land this thing happen.

⁴ Naso Abram make love with Hagar and she get belle. When Hagar know say she don get belle, she begin to dey react to her mistress with bad behavior.

⁵ Sarai come tell Abram say, "Na your fault be this, I put my servant for your care but now wey she don get belle, she begin dey react to me with bad behavior. Na God go judge who dey wrong between me and you."

⁶ Abram come tell her say, "Look, she be your servant, you fit deal with her as you like." Naso Sarai begin to dey treat Hagar bad and she run away.

⁷ Angel of God come meet Hagar for a spring inside desert on the road to Shur

⁸ and say, Hagar, servant of Sarai where you dey come from? And where you dey go? She come answer, I dey run from my mistress.

⁹ He con say, "Go back and be her slave.

¹⁰ I go give you many descendants wey nobody go fit count them.

¹¹ You go born a son and you go name him Ishmael, because God don hear your cry.

¹² But your son go be a terrible man, like a terrible donkey. He go dey against everyone and everyone go dey against him, and he no go live with him family.

¹³ Hagar come use another name for God wey don follow her talk. She say, "Na you be God wey dey see me." She come say, "Shey I don really see the one wey dey see me?"

¹⁴ Na the reason why people call that well "the Well of Living One wey dey See Me".

¹⁵ Hagar come born a son for Abram and he name him Ishmael.

¹⁶ Abram na 86 years old at that time.
