Ezekiel 1

On the fifth day of the fourth month of thirtieth year, I, Ezekiel the priest, son of Buzi, dey live among the Jewish wey dey foreign land by River Chebar for Babylonia. The sky open and God show me vision.

(Na fifth year since king Jehoiachin don enter strange land.)

There beside River Chebar for Babylonia, I hear God follow me talk and I feel him power.

I look up and I see storm dey come from the north. Lightning dey flash from big cloud, and the sky wey round am dey shine. Where the lightning dey flash, something shine like bronze.

For the centre of the storm naso I see four living creature wey be like human being,

but each of them get four faces and four wings.

Dem get straight leg, and dem get foot wey be like bull own. Dem dey shine like bronze wey dem don polish.

In addition to their four faces and four wings, each of them also get four human hand, one under each wing.

Two wings of each creature con spread out so that the creature go form square as their wing tip dey touch each other. And when dem move, dem move in group without turning their body.

Each living creature get four different faces: human faces for front, lion face for right, bull face for left, and eagle face for back.

Two wings of each creature go up so that dem fit touch the tip of other creature wey dey next to am, and dem fold the remaining two wings for their body.

Each creature con face all the four directions, so that the group fit go anywhere dem like without turning.

Something dey among the creature wey look like hot lamp, wey dey move every time. The fire go shine and shoot out flashes of lightning.

The creature themselves dey go to and fro with speed of lightning.

As I dey look the four creatures, naso I see four wheels dey touch ground, one wheel dey beside each of them.

The four wheel look the same; each of them dey shine like precious stone, and each of dem get another wheel wey cross am for right angle,

so that the wheel fit move go any of the four direction.

Na eyes cover the rims of the wheels.

Anytime the creature move, the wheel dey move with them, and if the creature rise from earth, the wheel dey rise follow them.

The creature dey go anywhere dem like, and the wheel dey do same thing the creatures do, because na the creature dey control them.

So, every time wey the creature move or stop or rise in the air, the wheel go do the same.

E get amazing thing wey dey on top the heads of the creature, e be like bowl wey don turn upside down, and the bowl dey clear like crystal.

The creatures dey under the bowl, each of them stretch out two wings towards the one wey dey near am and cover hin body with the two wings wey remain.

I hear the noise of their wings when dem fly, e dey sound like cry of sea, like the noise of plenty army, like the voice of Almighty God. Dem fold their wings, when dem stop to dey fly,

But sound still dey come from the bowl wey dey on top their heads.

Something wey be like throne wey dem use sapphire make dey above the bowl, and a figure wey be like human being dey sit for the throne.

E be like say the figure dey shine like bronze for the middle of a fire. E dey shine everywhere with bright light

wey get all the colour of rainbow inside am. This na the precious light wey show the presence of God. When I see this, I fall with my face down for ground, and I con hear a voice dey follow me talk.
