Exodus 3

¹ One day, as Moses dey take care of sheep and goats of him father-in-law, Jethro, Midian priest, he direct the animal enter inside far dessert and he reach Sinai, the Holy mountain.

² Na there angel of God show like flame inside bush. Moses come see say the bush dey on fire, but the bush no dey burn. The thing dey strange for Moses mind. Why the bush no dey burn? I go move closer and see wetin dey happen.

³ As God see say Moses dey come closer, He call him for middle of the bush say, "Moses! Moses1". Him answer "Yes, I dey here".

⁴ God say, "No come closer". Commot your sandal, because Na Holy ground you dey stand.

⁵ Na me be the God of your Fathers, God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Na so Moses cover him face, because him dey fear to look God!

⁶ God come say, "I don see how dem dey maltreat una for Egypt, I don hear as una dey cry for rescue.

⁷ So, I don come down to rescue them from the Egyptians and commot dem from Egypt to another land wey dey big, land wey dey rich and fertile, and for where Canaanites, Hittites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites dey live now.

⁸ I don really hear my people cry, and I see as Egyptians dey oppress them.

⁹ Now, I dey send you go Egypt, so that you fit lead my people commot for the country.

¹⁰ But Moses tell God say, "I be nobody. How I go fit go meet the king and lead Israelites commot from Egypt?"

¹¹ God answer him, "I go dey with you, and when you lead my people commot for Egypt, you go worship me for this mountain. Na im go be proof say na me send you.

¹² But Moses reply say, "If I go meet people of Israel, and I tell them say, "the God of una forefathers don send me to you, dem go ask me, "Wetin be him name?" Na wetin I go tell them?"

¹³ God reply Moses say, "T ell people of Israel say I AM WHO I AM: I AM don send me.

¹⁴ God say make Moses tell them again say, "Yahweh, the God of una forefathers-the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, na him send me to una. Na my eternal name be this, na my name to remember for generation to come.

¹⁵ "Now go gather elders of Israel together. Tell them say, "Yahweh, the God of una forefathers-the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob don appear to me. He tell me say, "I don dey watch una closely, and I see how Egyptians dey treat una bad.

¹⁶ I don promise to rescue una from oppression of Egypt people. I go lead una to a land wey dey flow with milk and honey-the land wey the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites, and Jebusites dey live now.

¹⁷ Elders of Israel go accept your message. Then you and elders must go meet king of Egypt and tell him say, "the LORD, God of Hebrews don show himself to us. Allow us to travel inside desert for three days make we go offer sacrifices to the LORD, our God".

¹⁸ I know say Pharaoh no go allow una go, unless dem force him to do so.

¹⁹ But I go use my power punish Egypt by doing terrible things to them. He go allow una go after that.

²⁰ "I go make Egyptians respect you so tail when my people dey go, dem no go commot empty-handed.

²¹ Every Israelite woman go meet her Egyptian neighbors and any Egyptian woman wey dem dey live for same house, and she go ask them for clothes and for gold and silver jewelry. The Israelites go put the things for their pikin head and carry away wealth of Egyptians.
