Exodus 20
1 God speak, and na him words be these:
2 "I be the LORD your God wey bring una out of Egypt, where una be slaves.
3 Worship no god but me.
4 No make image of anything for yourself in heaven or on earth or for inside water under earth.
5 No bow down for any idol or worship am, because I be the LORD your God and I no dey allow rivals. I go bring punishment on people wey hate me and on their descendants take reach third and fourth generation.
6 But I go show my love to thousands of generations of people wey love me and obey my laws.
7 No use my name for evil purpose, because I, the LORD your God go punish anyone wey misuse my name.
8 Dey observe Sabbath day and keep am holy.
9 Na six days una get to dey do una work,
10 but una go dedicate seventh day to me for rest. On that day, no one go work " una, una children, una slaves, una animals, and foreigners wey dey live for una country no go work.
11 For six days I, the LORD, create earth, sky, sea, and everything wey inside them, but I rest on seventh day. Na why I, the LORD, bless Sabbath day and make am holy.
12 Make una respect una father and una mother, so that una go fit live long for the land wey I dey give una.
13 No commit murder.
14 No commit adultery.
15 No thief.
16 No accuse anyone with lie.
17 No desire another man house; no desire him wife, him slaves, him cattle, him donkeys, or anything wey be him own."
20 Moses reply say, "No fear; God just come test una, and make una continue to dey obey him, so that una no go sin."
21 But the people still dey stand far away, na only Moses go near the dark cloud where God dey.
22 God command Moses make he tell Israelites say, "Una don see how I, the LORD, don speak to una from heaven.
23 No make gods with silver or gold for unaself wey una go dey worship with me.
24 Make alter for me for earth, and make una dey sacrifice una sheep and cattle as burnt offering and as fellowship offerings. For everyday wey I set aside for una to worship me, I go come to una and bless una.
25 If una make altar of stone for me, make una no build am with cut stones, because when una use stones wey una don use tool break, una dey make am useless for holy use.
26 Make una no build altar for me with staircase; if una do, someone fit look up under una cloth and see una nakedness.
