Exodus 2

¹ A man wey come from Levi tribe marry a woman from him own tribe.

² The woman come get belle, and she born boy. She see say the boy dey special, naso she hide am for three month.

³ But when she no fit hide am again, she take a basket and cover am with tar, so that water no go fit enter. She put her pikin inside am and she drop him for side of Nile River.

⁴ The pikin sister stand for far dey watch wetin go happen to the boy.

⁵ Pharaoh daughter come bath for river, and her servant dey waka for river side. She come notice the basket and she send one slave woman to go carry am.

⁶ When the princess open am, na pikin she see. The pikin dey cry, she come dey sorry for the pikin. She say "this one na Hebrew pikin him go be".

⁷ Na so the pikin sister come meet the princess. She ask princess say, "Make I go find one Hebrew woman wey go nurse the pikin for you."

⁸ She say yes! Na so the girl go call the pikin mama come.

⁹ Take this pikin and nurse him for me. The princess tell the boy mama say, "I go pay you for the help". Na so the woman carry her son go home and she nurse him.

¹⁰ When the boy don grow older, him mama carry him go back to Pharaoh daughter. Pharaoh daughter come take the pikin as her own. The Princess come name him Moses, she explain say "I lift him commot for water".

¹¹ After many years, Moses don grow up. He come go visit him own people, and he come see how dem dey make them do hard labor. He even see as Egyptians dey kill one of him fellow Hebrew.

¹² Moses look around and see say nobody dey watch him, he kill the Egyptian and hide him body inside sand.

¹³ Next day, he go back and he see two Hebrew wey dey fight. He come tell the one wey dey wrong, "Why you dey fight your friend?"

¹⁴ The man come answer say, "Na who make you ruler and judge? Shey you wan kill me as you kill that Egyptian yesterday?"

¹⁵ Na so Moses begin to dey fear say people don know wetin him do. When Pharaoh hear about wetin don happen, he try kill Moses. But Moses run from Pharaoh, and he go live for Land of Midian.

¹⁶ One day, Moses sit down for the side of well. Na so the seven daughters of Jethro, the Midian priest, come fetch water for their sheep and goats as usual.

¹⁷ But other shepherds wey dey around the well pursue them commot. Moses come go rescue them and he give their animal water.

¹⁸ When dem return to their papa, him ask them "Why una come back early?."

¹⁹ Dem answer say, "Na one Egyptian rescue us from shepherds, he even fetch water for us and water our animal for us.

²⁰ Dem papa ask them, "Where him dey?" "Why una leave the man for there? Make una go invite him to come chop with us?

²¹ Na so Moses gree to dey live with them for their house, Jethro come marry one of him daughter "Zipporah" to him.

²² She born one son, Moses come say, "I be foreigner for this land, so, I go name him Gershom".

²³ Years later, Egypt king die, but Israelites still dey under slavery, na so dem cry out for help. Their cry come go up to God.

²⁴ God hear all their complain, and He remember all him promise for Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

²⁵ He look them for down, and he know say time don reach to act.
