Exodus 14

¹ God tell Moses say,

² "Tell Israelites say make dem turn back go camp for front of Pi Hahiroth, between Migdol and Red Sea, near Baal Zephon.

³ The king go think say Israelites dey wander about for the country and dem dey close by for desert.

⁴ I go make him stubborn, and he go pursue una, and my victory over the king and him army go bring me honor. Then the Egyptians go know say I be God." Israelites come do as dem tell them.

⁵ When dem tell king of Egypt say the people don escape, he and him officials come change their mind and dem say, "Wetin we don do? We don let Israelites escape, and we don loose dem as our slaves!"

⁶ The king go get him chariot and him army ready.

⁷ He begin dey go with all him chariots, with the 600 wey fine pass, and officer wey dey command them.

⁸ God come make the king stubborn, and he begin dey pursue Israelites, wey don dey leave with Joy.

⁹ The Egyptian army with their horses, chariots, and drivers, pursue them and dem meet them where dem camp for Red Sea side near Pi Hahiroth and Baal Zephon.

¹⁰ When Israelites see as the king and him army dey match against them, dem begin dey fear and dem cry out to God for help.

¹¹ Dem tell Moses say, "Graves no dey for Egypt? Shey you suppose bring us out here to die? See wetin you don do as you bring us commot for Egypt!

¹² Shey we no tell you before we leave say this thing go happen? We tell you say make you leave us alone and allow us make we continue to be slaves to Egyptians. E go dey better to be slaves there than to die here for desert."

¹³ Moses come reply them say, "Make una no fear! Stand una ground, and una go see wetin God go do to save una today; una no go ever see these Egyptians again.

¹⁴ God go fight for una, and una no need to do anything."

¹⁵ God come tell Moses say, "Why una dey cry out for help? Tell the people say make dem move go forward.

¹⁶ Lift your stick and stretch am over the sea. The water go divide, and Israelites go fit waka through the sea for dry ground.

¹⁷ I go make Egyptians stubborn that dem go follow them, and I go gain honor by my victory over the king, him army, him chariots, and him drivers.

¹⁸ When I defeat them, Egyptians go know say I be God."

¹⁹ Angel of God wey dey front of Israel army come move go back. The pillar of cloud come move until e dey

²⁰ between Egyptians and Israelites. The cloud make am dark for Egyptians, but give light to people of Israel, and so the armies no fit come near each other all night.

²¹ Moses come stretch him hand over the sea, and God drive the sea go back with strong east wind. E blow all night and turn the sea to dry land. The water come divide,

²² and Israelites come waka through the sea on dry ground, with wall of water for both side.

²³ The Egyptians come pursue them and dem follow them enter sea with their horses, chariots, and drivers.

²⁴ Before morning God look down from pillar of fire and cloud at Egyptian army, and he throw them for fear.

²⁵ He make their chariots wheel hook, so that e go dey difficult for them to move. The Egyptians come say, "God dey fight for Israelites against us. Make we commot for here!

²⁶ God come tell Moses say, "Stretch out your hand on top the sea, and the water go come back over the Egyptians and their chariots and drivers."

²⁷ Naso Moses stretch out him hand on top sea, and when day don break the water don return to normal level. The Egyptians try make dem escape from water, but God dey throw them back inside sea.

²⁸ The water come return and e cover the chariots, the drivers, and all Egyptian army wey don follow Egyptians enter sea; none of them remain.

²⁹ But the Israelites waka through the sea on dry ground, with walls of water for both side.

³⁰ For that day God save people of Israel from Egyptians, and Israelites see their dead body for side of sea.

³¹ When the Israelites see the great power wey God don use to defeat the Egyptians, dem dey surprised of wetin God don do; and dem get faith in God and him servant Moses.
