Ecclesiastes 3
1 Everything wey dey happen for this world dey happen for the time wey God choose.
2 Na him dey set time for birth and time for death, time to dey plant and time to dey harvest,
3 Na him dey set time to dey kill and time to dey heal, time to dey destroy and time to dey build.
4 Na him dey set time for sorrow and time for joy, time to dey sad and time to dey dance,
5 Na him dey set the time to make love and time not to make love, time to dey kiss and time not to dey kiss.
6 Na him dey set time to dey find and time to dey loose, time to dey save and time to dey throway something,
7 Na him dey set time to dey tear and time to dey repair, time for silence and time for talk.
8 Na him dey set time for for love and time to hate, na him dey set time for war and time for peace.
9 Wetin we gain from all this work?
10 I know the heavy burdens wey God don put on us.
11 He don set the right time for everything. He don give us desire to know the future, but he never give us pleasure to dey fully understand wetin he dey do.
12 Naso I con realize say all we fit do na to dey happy and dey do the best wey we fit do when we still dey alive.
13 Make all of us chop and drink and enjoy everything wey we don work for. Na gift of God dem be.
14 I know say everything wey God do go last forever. You no fit add anything to am or commot anything from am. One thing wey God do na to make us dey wonder about him.
15 Anything wey dey happen or anything wey fit happen don already happen before. God dey make same thing dey happen again and again.
16 I don also notice say for this world, na wickedness you go find where justice and right suppose dey.
17 I con tell myself say, "God go judge the righteous and the evil for same way, because everything, every action, go happen for the time wey he don set."
18 I con conclude say God dey test us, to show us say we no better pass animals.
19 After all, na the same thing go happen to both human being and animal. One go just die like the other. Na same kind creature dem be. Human being no better pass animal, because life no get meaning for each of them.
20 Na the same place two of them dey go - the dust. Na from dust two of them come from; two of them go return back to am.
21 How anyone fit dey sure say human spirit dey go up and animal spirit dey go down to ground?
22 Naso I con realize say the best thing wey we fit do na to dey enjoy wetin we don work for. Nothing else wey we fit do. Way no dey for us to know wetin go happen after we die.
