Deuteronomy 6

¹ God tell me make I give una these laws and commands, so that una fit obey them for the land he dey give una. Soon una go cross the Jordan River and take that land.

² And If una and una descendants wan live for long time, una must always worship God and obey him laws.

³ Hear me, people of Israel! Our ancestors worship God, and he promise say he go give us this land wey dey rich with milk and honey. Make una obey him, and una go become successful and powerful nation.

⁴ Hear me, people of Israel! Na the LORD our God be the only true God!

⁵ So, Make una love the LORD una God with all una heart, soul, and strength.

⁶ Put him laws for mind

⁷ and make una tell una children over and over again. Talk about them all the time, whether una dey for home or una dey for road dey waka or una dey go bed for night, or una dey wake up for morning.

⁸ Make una write down copies and tie them to una wrist and forehead to help una obey them.

⁹ Write the laws for doorframe of una house and for una town gates.

¹⁰ God promise una ancestors Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob say he go give una this land. Now, he go take una there and give una large towns, with good buildings wey una no build,

¹¹ and house wey good things wey una no put there dey there. God go give una wells wey una no need to dig, and vineyard and olive tree wey una no need to plant. But when una don eat belleful,

¹² make una no forget say na God set una free from slavery and bring una out of Egypt.

¹³ Worship and obey the LORD una God with fear, and promise say una go dey loyal to him.

¹⁴ Make una no get anything to do with gods wey other nations around una dey worship.

¹⁵ If una worship other gods, God go vex and destroy una. The LORD una God dey with una,

¹⁶ so make una try make him prove say he fit help una, as una do for Massah.

¹⁷ Dey always obey the laws wey God don give una

¹⁹ and live in a way wey please him. Then una go fit go in and take this good land from una enemies, just as he promise una ancestors.

²⁰ Someday una children go ask, "Why God give us these laws and commands?"

²¹ Then una go answer say, "We be slaves of Egypt king, but God use him great power set us free.

²² We see him perform miracle and make terrible things happen to the king, him officials, and everyone else.

²³ God rescue us from Egypt, so that he fit bring us to this land, as he don promise our ancestors.

²⁵ That na why the LORD our God ask say make we obey him laws and worship him with fear. And if we do, he go protect us and help us dey successful.
