Deuteronomy 26

¹ After una don take the land wey the LORD una God dey give una and settle for there,

² make each of una put first part of each crop wey una harvest for basket and make una take am to place of worship.

³ Make una go meet the priest wey dey in charge for that time and tell him say, "God promise our ancestor say he go give us some land. Today, I come announce to God say I don enter the land!"

⁴ The priest go take the basket from una and put am for front of altar of the LORD una God.

⁵ Una go come say these word for God presence: My ancestor na Aramean wey dey waka around, wey take him family make dem go live for Egypt. Dem no plenty when dem go there, but dem later become plenty and powerful nation.

⁶ The Egyptians begin dey treat us bad and force us to dey work as slaves.

⁷ Naso we cry out for help to the LORD, God of our ancestors. He hear us and see our suffer, trouble and hardship.

⁸ He rescue us with great power and strength. He do miracle and wonder, and he allow make terrible thing happen.

⁹ He bring us come here and give us this rich and fertile land.

¹⁰ So I dey bring to the LORD, the first part of harvest wey he don give me." "Then make una put the basket down for God presence and worship for there.

¹¹ Make una dey grateful for good things wey God don give una and una family; and make una allow Levites and foreigners wey dey live among una join una celebrate.

¹² For every third year, make una give tithe "one-tenth of una crops " to the Levites, foreigners, orphans, and the widows, so that for every community dem go get all dem need to eat. When una don do am,

¹³ make una tell God say, "No Holy tithe remain for my house; I don give am to the Levites, foreigners, orphans, and widows, as you don command say make I do. I no disobey or forget any of your command wey concern tithe.

¹⁴ I no eat any of am when I dey mourn; I no take any of am out of my house when I dey unclean; and I no give any of am out as offering for the dead. I don obey you, O LORD, I don do everything wey you command concerning tithe.

¹⁵ Look down from your holy place for heaven and bless your people Israel; bless the rich and fertile land wey you don give us, as you don promise our ancestors.

¹⁶ Today, the LORD una God command una to obey him laws; so make una obey them with all una heart.

¹⁷ Today, una don accept the LORD as una God; una don promise to obey him, to keep all him laws, and to do all he don command.

¹⁸ Today, God don accept una as him own people, as he promise una; and he command una to dey obey all him laws.

¹⁹ He go make una great pass other nations wey he don create, and una go bring praise and honor to him name. Una go be him own people, as he don promise.
