Deuteronomy 13

1-

² Moses tell people of Israel say: Someday a prophet fit come dey perform miracle or tell una wetin go happen for future. The prophet fit say, "Make we start dey worship some new gods " some gods wey we no know anything about."

³ If the prophet talk am like that, make una no listen to am! The LORD una God go dey watch to know whether una love him with all una heart and soul or not.

⁴ Una must completely dey faithful to God. Make una dey worship and obey only God and dey do am with fear,

⁵ because he safe una from slavery for Egypt. If a prophet tell una to disobey the LORD una God and make una stop to dey worship him, then that prophet get evil for mind and make una kill am.

¹⁰ Another person fit tell una say, "Make we worship other gods." That person fit be una best friend, una brother or sister, una son or daughter, or una own wife or husband. But make una no hear the person wey talk that kind thing. Instead, make una stone them to death. Una must be the first wey go throw the stones, then others from the community go finish am. Make una no show any pity. The gods wey other nations dey worship never do anything to una or una ancestors. People wey ask una to worship other gods just dey try get una to stop to dey worship the LORD, wey safe una from slavery for Egypt. So, make una kill any person wey ask una to worship other god. 11And when the rest of Israel hear about am, dem go dey fear, and no one go ever do that kind evil again.

¹² After the LORD una God give una towns to dey live, una fit hear rumor about one of the towns.

¹³ Una fit hear say some people wey no get value don talk everyone there to dey worship other gods, even though the gods never do anything for them.

¹⁴ Make una find out if the rumor na truth. Then if the people of that town don truly do that kind bad thing for una country,

¹⁵ una must take una swords and kill every one of them, and their animals too.

¹⁷ Gather everything wey the people wey dey live there get, and gather them up for market place, make dem no keep anything to themselves. Set the things and the whole town on fire, and make una no rebuild the town. The whole town go be sacrifice to the LORD una God. Then he no go vex again, and he go get mercy on una and make una nation stronger, just as he promise una ancestors.

¹⁸ That na why una must do wetin the LORD una God talk say e dey right. I go give una him laws and commands today, and una must obey them.
