Daniel 2

¹ During the second year wey Nebuchadnezzar be king, he get bad dream wey make am no fit sleep.

² Na so he call him counselors, advisors, magician, plus wise men dem, make dem con tell am wetin the dream mean.

³ He tell dem say, I dey fear because of the dream wey I get, I no know the meaning and I want make una explain am to me.

⁴ Dem talk for Arabic, say, "Your Majesty, we pray say make you live forever! We be your servants, talk your dream make we tell you the meaning."

⁵ King con talk say, "No! My mind don dey set say, if una no tell me this dream and the meaning, I go tear una to pieces and I go destroy una house.

⁶ But, if una tell me the dream plus wetin e mean, I go give una something, honor una join. So, make una tell me the dream and wetin e mean."

⁷ "Dem talk say", "Your Majesty, if you fit tell us your dream, we go tell you the meaning."

⁸ The king talk say, una just dey delay time,

¹³ This make the king vex give order say make dem kill all them wise men for Babylonia, with Daniel plus him three friends.

¹⁴ Arioch na the king official wey go kill the wise men, as he wan go do am, na so Daniel the wise man go meet am.

¹⁵ ask am say, why king give this kind order? After Arioch don tell am wetin happen.

¹⁶ Daniel run go meet the king, and tell am say, "If you go give me time, I go talk the dream give you."

¹⁷ Daniel run go house tell him friend.

¹⁸ He talk say, "Pray to God wey dey rule from heaven make he dey merciful, explain the dream, so that dem no go fit kill us and others."

¹⁹ For that same night, Daniel see vision for the dream plus the meaning, he praise God wey dey rule from heaven:

²⁰ "Our God, your name go be praise forever and ever. You be Almighty God, and you sabi everything.

²¹ You dey control time and season; you dey give rulers their power and even dey take am away. Na you dey give wisdom and understanding.

²² "You dey explain deep things and secrets because the dark na light to you.

²³ You be God wey my ancestor dey worship, I dey thank and praise you say you make me wise as you tell me the dream and the meaning for the king."

²⁴ Na so Daniel go meet Arioch wey king send make he go kill them royal adviser. He tell am say, "No kill dem. Take me go meet king, I go tell am the meaning of the dream."

²⁵ Arioch run carry Daniel go meet king Nebuchadnezzar, tell am say, "Your Majesty, I don see one of the men wey dem bring from Judah wey fit explain your dream."

²⁶ The king ask Daniel say "You fit tell me the dream and wetin e mean?"

²⁷ Daniel tell am say, Your Majesty, even the person wey smart pass in the world no fit tell you wetin you dey ask for.

²⁹ But the God wey dey rule from heaven fit explain everything. Na when you dey sleep he show you wetin go happen for future.

³⁰ Make I tell you, he no explain this dream to me because say I dey smart pass others. He tell me, so you go fit understand wetin you don see.

³¹ Your majesty, wetin you see dey stand for your front na big, terrible statue wey dey shine bright.

³² Na gold dem use make the head, the chest and arm na silver, the waist and knee na bronze,

³³ the leg na iron, and the feet na mixture of iron and clay.

³⁴ As you dey watch, one big stone cut from mountain but no be man cut am. The stone hit the feet, and destroy the iron and clay finish.

³⁵ Naso the iron, clay, silver, and gold fall and dem become like dust on top threshing place for summer. Wind blow am away without trace. But the stone grow and con become mountain wey cover all the earth.

³⁶ "This na the dream, and I go tell Your Magesty wetin e mean.

³⁷ Your majesty, na you be the greatest among all kings. God of heaven don make you emperor and He don give you power, might, plus honor.

³⁸ Na you be the head of gold, on top all man, animal and birds.

³⁹ After you don go, another kingdom go rule wey no go dey strong reach your own, and then the kingdom of bronze go follow am wey go rule the whole world.

⁴⁰ And kingdom of iron go come next to power, as iron strong dey destroy things, na so hin go fall destroy everything.

41-

⁴² The fourth kingdom go dey divided - e go dey strong and hard, just as you see say the feet and toe na mixture of iron and clay.

⁴³ This kingdom go be the result of marriage between kingdoms, but e go destroy as iron and clay no dey stay together.

44-

⁴⁵ For the time of those kings, The God wey dey rule from heaven go set up kingdom wey no go fall. E go be like stone wey dem cut from mountain, but no be by human hand - the stone wey destroy the iron, bronze, and gold. Your Majesty, the great God don show you wetin go happen for your dream, and you fit trust this interpretation.

⁴⁶ King Nebuchadnezzar bow for ground dey hail Daniel. He order make dem burn offering and sacrifice grain to honor Daniel God.

⁴⁷ The king talk say, na now I know say, your God dey above all other gods and kings, because he give you power to interpret this kind dream."

⁴⁸ The king give Daniel plenty gift, promote am to be governor for Babylon province and put am to dey in charge of other wise men.

⁴⁹ As Daniel ask, the king put Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego to dey in charge of affairs of the province for Babylonia; and Daniel remain for the royal court.
