1 OTITỌ li emi nsọ ninu Kristi, emi kò ṣeke, ọkàn mi si njẹ mi li ẹrí ninu Ẹmí Mimọ́,

1 I say the truth in Christ, I lie not, my conscience also bearing me witness in the Holy Ghost,

2 Pe mo ni ibinujẹ pupọ, ati ikãnu igbagbogbo li ọkàn mi.

2 That I have great heaviness and continual sorrow in my heart.

3 Nitori mo fẹrẹ le gbadura pe ki a ké emi tikarami kuro lọdọ Kristi, nitori awọn ará mi, awọn ibatan mi nipa ti ara:

3 For I could wish that myself were accursed from Christ for my brethren, my kinsmen according to the flesh:

4 Awọn ẹniti iṣe Israeli; ti awọn ẹniti isọdọmọ iṣe, ati ogo, ati majẹmu, ati ifunnilofin, ati ìsin Ọlọrun, ati awọn ileri;

4 Who are Israelites; to whom pertaineth the adoption, and the glory, and the covenants, and the giving of the law, and the service of God, and the promises;

5 Ti ẹniti awọn baba iṣe, ati lati ọdọ awọn ẹniti Kristi ti wá nipa ti ara, ẹniti o bori ohun gbogbo, Ọlọrun olubukún lailai. Amin.

5 Whose are the fathers, and of whom as concerning the flesh Christ came, who is over all, God blessed for ever. Amen.

6 Ṣugbọn kì iṣe pe nitori ọrọ Ọlọrun di asan. Kì sá iṣe gbogbo awọn ti o ti inu Israeli wá, awọn ni Israeli:

6 Not as though the word of God hath taken none effect. For they are not all Israel, which are of Israel:

7 Bẹ̃ni kì iṣe pe, nitori nwọn jẹ irú-ọmọ Abrahamu, gbogbo wọn li ọmọ: ṣugbọn, Ninu Isaaki li a ó ti pè irú-ọmọ rẹ.

7 Neither, because they are the seed of Abraham, are they all children: but, In Isaac shall thy seed be called.

8 Eyini ni pe, ki iṣe awọn ọmọ nipa ti ara, ni ọmọ Ọlọrun: ṣugbọn awọn ọmọ ileri li a kà ni irú-ọmọ.

8 That is, They which are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God: but the children of the promise are counted for the seed.

9 Nitori ọ̀rọ ileri li eyi, Niwoyi amọdun li emi ó wá; Sara yio si ni ọmọkunrin.

9 For this is the word of promise, At this time will I come, and Sara shall have a son.

10 Kì si iṣe kìki eyi; ṣugbọn nigbati Rebekka pẹlu lóyun fun ẹnikan, fun Isaaki baba wa;

10 And not only this; but when Rebecca also had conceived by one, even by our father Isaac;

11 Nitori nigbati a kò ti ibí awọn ọmọ na, bẹ̃ni nwọn kò ti iṣe rere tabi buburu, (ki ipinnu Ọlọrun nipa ti iyanfẹ ki o le duro, kì iṣe nipa ti iṣẹ, bikoṣe ti ẹni ti npè ni;)

11 (For the children being not yet born, neither having done any good or evil, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works, but of him that calleth;)

12 A ti sọ fun u pe, Ẹgbọn ni yio ma sìn aburo,

12 It was said unto her, The elder shall serve the younger.

13 Gẹgẹ bi a ti kọ ọ pe, Jakọbu ni mo fẹran, ṣugbọn Esau ni mo korira.

13 As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated.

14 Njẹ awa o ha ti wi? Aiṣododo ha wà lọdọ Ọlọrun bi? Ki a má ri.

14 What shall we say then? Is there unrighteousness with God? God forbid.

15 Nitori o wi fun Mose pe, Emi ó ṣãnu fun ẹniti emi ó ṣãnu fun, emi o si ṣe iyọ́nu fun ẹniti emi o ṣe iyọ́nu fun.

15 For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.

16 Njẹ bẹ̃ni kì iṣe ti ẹniti o fẹ, kì si iṣe ti ẹniti nsáre, bikoṣe ti Ọlọrun ti nṣãnu.

16 So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy.

17 For the scripture saith unto Pharaoh, Even for this same purpose have I raised thee up, that I might shew my power in thee, and that my name might be declared throughout all the earth.

18 Nitorina li o ṣe nṣãnu fun ẹniti o wù u, ẹniti o wù u a si mu u li ọkàn le.

18 Therefore hath he mercy on whom he will have mercy, and whom he will he hardeneth.

19 Iwọ o si wi fun mi pe, Kili ó ha tun ba ni wi si? Nitori tali o ndè ifẹ rẹ̀ lọ̀na?

19 Thou wilt say then unto me, Why doth he yet find fault? For who hath resisted his will?

20 Bẹ̃kọ, iwọ enia, tani iwọ ti nda Ọlọrun lohùn? Ohun ti a mọ a ha mã wi fun ẹniti ti o mọ ọ pé, Ẽṣe ti iwọ fi mọ mi bayi?

20 Nay but, O man, who art thou that repliest against God? Shall the thing formed say to him that formed it, Why hast thou made me thus?

21 Amọ̀koko kò ha li agbara lori amọ̀, ninu ìṣu kanna lati ṣe apakan li ohun elo si ọlá, ati apakan li ohun elo si ailọlá?

21 Hath not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make one vessel unto honour, and another unto dishonour?

22 Njẹ bi Ọlọrun ba fẹ fi ibinu rẹ̀ hàn nkọ, ti o si fẹ sọ agbara rẹ̀ di mimọ̀, ti o si mu suru pupọ fun awọn ohun elo ibinu ti a ṣe fun iparun;

22 What if God, willing to shew his wrath, and to make his power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath fitted to destruction:

23 Ati ki o le sọ ọrọ̀ ogo rẹ̀ di mimọ̀ lara awọn ohun elo ãnu ti o ti pèse ṣaju fun ogo,

23 And that he might make known the riches of his glory on the vessels of mercy, which he had afore prepared unto glory,

24 Ani awa, ti o ti pè, kì iṣe ninu awọn Ju nikan, ṣugbọn ninu awọn Keferi pẹlu?

24 Even us, whom he hath called, not of the Jews only, but also of the Gentiles?

25 Bi o ti wi pẹlu ni Hosea pe, Emi ó pè awọn ti kì iṣe enia mi, li enia mi, ati ẹniti ki iṣe ayanfẹ li ayanfẹ.

25 As he saith also in Osee, I will call them my people, which were not my people; and her beloved, which was not beloved.

26 Yio si ṣe, ni ibi ti a gbé ti sọ fun wọn pe, Ẹnyin kì iṣe enia mi, nibẹ̀ li a o gbé pè wọn li ọmọ Ọlọrun alãye.

26 And it shall come to pass, that in the place where it was said unto them, Ye are not my people; there shall they be called the children of the living God.

27 Isaiah si kigbe nitori Israeli pe, Bi iye awọn ọmọ Israeli bá ri bi iyanrin okun, apakan li a ó gbala.

27 Esaias also crieth concerning Israel, Though the number of the children of Israel be as the sand of the sea, a remnant shall be saved:

28 Nitori Oluwa yio mu ọrọ rẹ̀ ṣẹ lori ilẹ aiye, yio pari rẹ̀, yio si ke e kúru li ododo.

28 For he will finish the work, and cut it short in righteousness: because a short work will the Lord make upon the earth.

29 Ati bi Isaiah ti wi tẹlẹ, Bikoṣe bi Oluwa awọn Ọmọ-ogun ti fi irú-ọmọ silẹ fun wa, awa iba ti dabi Sodomu, a ba si ti sọ wa dabi Gomora.

29 And as Esaias said before, Except the Lord of Sabaoth had left us a seed, we had been as Sodoma, and been made like unto Gomorrha.

30 Njẹ kili awa o ha wi? Pe awọn Keferi, ti kò lepa ododo, ọwọ́ wọn tẹ̀ ododo, ṣugbọn ododo ti o ti inu igbala wá ni.

30 What shall we say then? That the Gentiles, which followed not after righteousness, have attained to righteousness, even the righteousness which is of faith.

31 Ṣugbọn Israeli ti nlepa ofin ododo, ọwọ́ wọn kò tẹ̀ ofin ododo.

31 But Israel, which followed after the law of righteousness, hath not attained to the law of righteousness.

32 Nitori kini? nitori nwọn ko wá a nipa igbagbọ́, ṣugbọn bi ẹnipe nipa iṣẹ ofin. Nitori nwọn kọsẹ lara okuta ikọsẹ ni;

32 Wherefore? Because they sought it not by faith, but as it were by the works of the law. For they stumbled at that stumblingstone;

33 Gẹgẹ bi a ti kọ ọ pe, Kiyesi i, mo gbé okuta ikọsẹ ati àpata idugbolu kalẹ ni Sioni: ẹnikẹni ti o ba si gbà a gbọ, oju kì yio ti i.

33 As it is written, Behold, I lay in Sion a stumblingstone and rock of offence: and whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
