1 LI ẹba odò Babeli, nibẹ li awa gbe joko, awa si sọkun nigbati awa ranti Sioni.

1 By the rivers of Babylon, there we sat down, yea, we wept, when we remembered Zion.

2 Awa fi duru wa kọ́ si ori igi wíllo ti o wà lãrin rẹ̀.

2 We hanged our harps upon the willows in the midst thereof.

3 Nitoripe nibẹ li awọn ti o kó wa ni igbekun bère orin lọwọ wa; ati awọn ti o ni wa lara bère idaraya wipe; Ẹ kọ orin Sioni kan fun wa.

3 For there they that carried us away captive required of us a song; and they that wasted us required of us mirth, saying, Sing us one of the songs of Zion.

4 Awa o ti ṣe kọ orin Oluwa ni ilẹ àjeji?

4 How shall we sing the LORD's song in a strange land?

5 Jerusalemu, bi emi ba gbagbe rẹ, jẹ ki ọwọ ọtún mi ki o gbagbe ìlò rẹ̀.

5 If I forget thee, O Jerusalem, let my right hand forget her cunning.

6 Bi emi kò ba ranti rẹ, jẹ ki ahọn mi ki o lẹ̀ mọ èrìgì mi; bi emi kò ba fi Jerusalemu ṣaju olori ayọ̀ mi gbogbo.

6 If I do not remember thee, let my tongue cleave to the roof of my mouth; if I prefer not Jerusalem above my chief joy.

7 Oluwa, ranti ọjọ Jerusalemu lara awọn ọmọ Edomu, awọn ẹniti nwipe, Wó o palẹ, wó o palẹ, de ipilẹ rẹ̀!

7 Remember, O LORD, the children of Edom in the day of Jerusalem; who said, Rase it, rase it, even to the foundation thereof.

8 Iwọ, ọmọbinrin Babeli, ẹniti a o parun; ibukún ni fun ẹniti o san a fun ọ bi iwọ ti hù si wa.

8 O daughter of Babylon, who art to be destroyed; happy shall he be, that rewardeth thee as thou hast served us.

9 Ibukún li ẹniti o mu, ti o si fi ọmọ wẹwẹ rẹ ṣán okuta.

9 Happy shall he be, that taketh and dasheth thy little ones against the stones.
