¹ IBA máṣe pe Oluwa ti o ti wà fun wa, ki Israeli ki o ma wi nisisiyi;

¹ If it had not been the LORD who was on our side, now may Israel say;

² Iba máṣe pe Oluwa ti o ti wà fun wa, nigbati awọn enia duro si wa:

² If it had not been the LORD who was on our side, when men rose up against us:

³ Nigbana ni nwọn iba gbé wa mì lãye, nigbati ibinu nwọn ru si wa:

³ Then they had swallowed us up quick, when their wrath was kindled against us:

⁴ Nigbana li omi wọnni iba bò wa mọlẹ, iṣan omi iba ti bori ọkàn wa:

⁴ Then the waters had overwhelmed us, the stream had gone over our soul:

⁵ Nigbana li agberaga omi iba bori ọkàn wa.

⁵ Then the proud waters had gone over our soul.

⁶ Olubukún li Oluwa, ti kò fi wa fun wọn bi ohun ọdẹ fun ehin wọn.

⁶ Blessed be the LORD, who hath not given us as a prey to their teeth.

⁷ Ọkàn wa yọ bi ẹiyẹ jade kuro ninu okùn apẹiyẹ: okùn já, awa si yọ.

⁷ Our soul is escaped as a bird out of the snare of the fowlers: the snare is broken, and we are escaped.

⁸ Iranlọwọ wa mbẹ li orukọ Oluwa, ti o da ọrun on aiye.

⁸ Our help is in the name of the LORD, who made heaven and earth.
