¹ OLUWA si sọ fun Mose ni pẹtẹlẹ̀ Moabu lẹba Jordani leti Jeriko, wipe,

¹ And the LORD spake unto Moses in the plains of Moab by Jordan near Jericho, saying,

² Paṣẹ fun awọn ọmọ Israeli, ki nwọn ki o fi ilu fun awọn ọmọ Lefi ninu ipín ilẹ-iní wọn, lati ma gbé; ki ẹnyin ki o si fi ẹbẹba-ilu fun awọn ọmọ Lefi ni ilu wọnni yi wọn ká.

² Command the children of Israel, that they give unto the Levites of the inheritance of their possession cities to dwell in; and ye shall give also unto the Levites suburbs for the cities round about them.

³ Ki nwọn ki o ní ilu lati ma gbé; ati ẹbẹba-ilu wọn fun ohunọ̀sin wọn, ati fun ohun-iní wọn, ati fun gbogbo ẹran wọn.

³ And the cities shall they have to dwell in; and the suburbs of them shall be for their cattle, and for their goods, and for all their beasts.

⁴ Ati ẹbẹba-ilu, ti ẹnyin o fi fun awọn ọmọ Lefi, lati odi ilu lọ sẹhin rẹ̀ ki o jẹ́ ẹgbẹrun igbọnwọ yiká.

⁴ And the suburbs of the cities, which ye shall give unto the Levites, shall reach from the wall of the city and outward a thousand cubits round about.

⁵ Ki ẹnyin ki o si wọ̀n lati ẹhin ode ilu na lọ ni ìha ìla-õrùn ẹgba igbọnwọ, ati ni ìha gusù ẹgba igbọnwọ, ati ni ìha ìwọ-õrùn ẹgba igbọnwọ, ati ni ìha ariwa ẹgba igbọnwọ; ki ilu na ki o si wà lãrin. Eyi ni yio si ma ṣe ẹbẹba-ilu fun wọn.

⁵ And ye shall measure from without the city on the east side two thousand cubits, and on the south side two thousand cubits, and on the west side two thousand cubits, and on the north side two thousand cubits and the city shall be in the midst: this shall be to them the suburbs of the cities.

⁶ Ati ninu ilu ti ẹnyin o fi fun awọn ọmọ Lefi, mẹfa o jẹ́ ilu àbo, ti ẹnyin o yàn fun aṣi-enia-pa, ki o le ma salọ sibẹ̀: ki ẹnyin ki o si fi ilu mejilelogoji kún wọn.

⁶ And among the cities which ye shall give unto the Levites there shall be six cities for refuge, which ye shall appoint for the manslayer, that he may flee thither: and to them ye shall add forty and two cities.

⁷ Gbogbo ilu ti ẹnyin o fi fun awọn ọmọ Lefi ki o jẹ́ mejidilãdọta: wọnyi ni ki ẹnyin fi fun wọn pẹlu ẹbẹba wọn.

⁷ So all the cities which ye shall give to the Levites shall be forty and eight cities: them shall ye give with their suburbs.

⁸ Ati ilu ti ẹnyin o fi fun wọn, ki o jẹ́ ninu ilẹ-iní awọn ọmọ Israeli, lọwọ ẹniti o ní pupọ̀ lí ẹnyin o gbà pupọ̀; ṣugbọn lọwọ ẹniti o ní diẹ li ẹnyin o gbà diẹ: ki olukuluku ki o fi ninu ilu rẹ̀ fun awọn ọmọ Lefi gẹgẹ bi ilẹ-iní rẹ̀ ti o ní.

⁸ And the cities which ye shall give shall be of the possession of the children of Israel: from them that have many ye shall give many; but from them that have few ye shall give few: every one shall give of his cities unto the Levites according to his inheritance which he inheriteth.

⁹ OLUWA si sọ fun Mose pe,

⁹ And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

¹⁰ Sọ fun awọn ọmọ Israeli, ki o si wi fun wọn pe, Nigbati ẹnyin ba gòke Jordani lọ si ilẹ Kenaani;

¹⁰ Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye be come over Jordan into the land of Canaan;

¹¹ Nigbana ni ki ẹnyin ki o yàn ilu fun ara nyin ti yio jẹ́ ilu àbo fun nyin; ki apania ti o pa enia li aimọ̀ ki o le ma sa lọ sibẹ̀.

¹¹ Then ye shall appoint you cities to be cities of refuge for you; that the slayer may flee thither, which killeth any person at unawares.

¹² Nwọn o si jasi ilu àbo kuro lọwọ agbẹsan; ki ẹniti o pa enia ki o má ba kú titi yio fi duro niwaju ijọ awọn enia ni idajọ.

¹² And they shall be unto you cities for refuge from the avenger; that the manslayer die not, until he stand before the congregation in judgment.

¹³ Ati ninu ilu wọnyi ti ẹnyin o fi fun wọn, mẹfa yio jẹ́ ilu àbo fun nyin.

¹³ And of these cities which ye shall give six cities shall ye have for refuge.

¹⁴ Ki ẹnyin ki o yàn ilu mẹta ni ìha ihin Jordani, ki ẹnyin ki o si yàn ilu mẹta ni ilẹ Kenaani, ti yio ma jẹ́ ilu àbo.

¹⁴ Ye shall give three cities on this side Jordan, and three cities shall ye give in the land of Canaan, which shall be cities of refuge.

¹⁵ Ilu mẹfa wọnyi ni yio ma jẹ́ àbo fun awọn ọmọ Israeli, ati fun alejò ati fun atipo lãrin wọn: ki olukuluku ẹniti o ba pa enia li aimọ̀ ki o le ma salọ sibẹ̀.

¹⁵ These six cities shall be a refuge, both for the children of Israel, and for the stranger, and for the sojourner among them: that every one that killeth any person unawares may flee thither.

¹⁶ Ṣugbọn bi o ba fi ohunèlo irin lù u, ti o si kú, apania li on: pipa li a o pa apania na.

¹⁶ And if he smite him with an instrument of iron, so that he die, he is a murderer: the murderer shall surely be put to death.

¹⁷ Ati bi o ba sọ okuta lù u, ti o le ti ipa rẹ̀ kú, ti o si kú, apania li on: a o pa apania na.

¹⁷ And if he smite him with throwing a stone, wherewith he may die, and he die, he is a murderer: the murderer shall surely be put to death.

¹⁸ Tabi bi o ba fi ohun-èlo igi lù u, ti o le ti ipa rẹ̀ kú, ti o si kú, apania li on: pipa li a o pa apania na.

¹⁸ Or if he smite him with an hand weapon of wood, wherewith he may die, and he die, he is a murderer: the murderer shall surely be put to death.

¹⁹ Agbẹsan ẹ̀jẹ tikalarẹ̀ ni ki o pa apania na: nigbati o ba bá a, ki o pa a.

¹⁹ The revenger of blood himself shall slay the murderer: when he meeteth him, he shall slay him.

²⁰ Ṣugbọn bi o ba ṣepe o fi irira gún u, tabi ti o ba sọ nkan lù u, lati ibuba wá, ti on si kú;

²⁰ But if he thrust him of hatred, or hurl at him by laying of wait, that he die;

²¹ Tabi bi o nṣe ọtá, ti o fi ọwọ́ rẹ̀ lù u, ti on si kú: ẹniti o lù u nì pipa li a o pa a; nitoripe apania li on: agbẹsan ẹ̀jẹ ni ki o pa apania na, nigbati o ba bá a.

²¹ Or in enmity smite him with his hand, that he die: he that smote him shall surely be put to death; for he is a murderer: the revenger of blood shall slay the murderer, when he meeteth him.

²² Ṣugbọn bi o ba fi nkan gún u lojiji laiṣe ọtá, tabi ti o sọ ohunkohun lù u laiba dè e,

²² But if he thrust him suddenly without enmity, or have cast upon him any thing without laying of wait,

²³ Tabi okuta kan li o sọ, nipa eyiti enia le fi kú, ti kò ri i, ti o si sọ ọ lù u, ti on si kú, ti ki ṣe ọtá rẹ̀, ti kò si wá ibi rẹ̀:

²³ Or with any stone, wherewith a man may die, seeing him not, and cast it upon him, that he die, and was not his enemy, neither sought his harm:

²⁴ Nigbana ni ki ijọ ki o ṣe idajọ lãrin ẹniti o pa enia ati agbẹsan ẹ̀jẹ na, gẹgẹ bi idajọ wọnyi:

²⁴ Then the congregation shall judge between the slayer and the revenger of blood according to these judgments:

²⁵ Ki ijọ ki o si gbà ẹniti o pani li ọwọ́ agbẹsan ẹ̀jẹ, ki ijọ ki o si mú u pada lọ si ilu àbo rẹ̀, nibiti o ti sá si: ki o si ma gbé ibẹ̀ titi di ìgba ikú olori alufa, ti a fi oróro mimọ́ yàn.

²⁵ And the congregation shall deliver the slayer out of the hand of the revenger of blood, and the congregation shall restore him to the city of his refuge, whither he was fled: and he shall abide in it unto the death of the high priest, which was anointed with the holy oil.

²⁶ Ṣugbọn bi apania na ba ṣèṣi jade lọ si opinlẹ ilu àbo rẹ̀, nibiti o ti sá si;

²⁶ But if the slayer shall at any time come without the border of the city of his refuge, whither he was fled;

²⁷ Ti agbẹsan ẹ̀jẹ na si ri i lẹhin opinlẹ ilu àbo rẹ̀, ti agbẹsan ẹ̀jẹ si pa apania na; on ki yio jẹbi ẹ̀jẹ:

²⁷ And the revenger of blood find him without the borders of the city of his refuge, and the revenger of blood kill the slayer; he shall not be guilty of blood:

²⁸ Nitoripe on iba joko ninu ilu àbo rẹ̀ titi di ìgba ikú olori alufa: ati lẹhin ikú olori alufa ki apania na ki o pada lọ si ilẹ iní rẹ̀.

²⁸ Because he should have remained in the city of his refuge until the death of the high priest: but after the death of the high priest the slayer shall return into the land of his possession.

²⁹ Ohun wọnyi ni o si jẹ́ ìlana idajọ fun nyin ni iraniran nyin ni ibujoko nyin gbogbo.

²⁹ So these things shall be for a statute of judgment unto you throughout your generations in all your dwellings.

³⁰ Ẹnikẹni ti o ba pa enia, lati ẹnu awọn ẹlẹri wá li a o pa apania na: ṣugbọn ẹlẹri kanṣoṣo ki yio jẹri si ẹnikan lati pa a.

³⁰ Whoso killeth any person, the murderer shall be put to death by the mouth of witnesses: but one witness shall not testify against any person to cause him to die.

³¹ Pẹlupẹlu ki ẹnyin ki o máṣe gbà ohun-irasilẹ fun ẹmi apania, ti o jẹbi ikú: ṣugbọn pipa ni ki a pa a.

³¹ Moreover ye shall take no satisfaction for the life of a murderer, which is guilty of death: but he shall be surely put to death.

³² Ki ẹnyin ki o má si ṣe gbà ohun-irasilẹ fun ẹniti o salọ si ilu àbo rẹ̀, pe ki on ki o tun pada lọ ijoko ni ilẹ na, titi di ìgba ikú alufa.

³² And ye shall take no satisfaction for him that is fled to the city of his refuge, that he should come again to dwell in the land, until the death of the priest.

³³ Ẹnyin kò si gbọdọ bà ilẹ na jẹ́ ninu eyiti ẹnyin ngbé: nitoripe ẹ̀jẹ ama bà ilẹ jẹ́: a kò si le ṣètutu fun ilẹ nitori ẹ̀je ti a ta sinu rẹ̀, bikoṣe nipa ẹ̀jẹ ẹniti o ta a.

³³ So ye shall not pollute the land wherein ye are: for blood it defileth the land: and the land cannot be cleansed of the blood that is shed therein, but by the blood of him that shed it.

³⁴ Iwọ kò si gbọdọ sọ ilẹ na di alaimọ́, ninu eyiti ẹnyin o joko, ninu eyiti emi ngbé: nitori Emi JEHOFA ni ngbé inu awọn ọmọ Israeli.

³⁴ Defile not therefore the land which ye shall inhabit, wherein I dwell: for I the LORD dwell among the children of Israel.
