1 O SI jade nibẹ̀, o wá si ilu on tikararẹ̀; awọn ọmọ-ẹhin rẹ̀ si tọ̀ ọ lẹhin.

1 And he went out from thence, and came into his own country; and his disciples follow him.

2 Nigbati o si di ọjọ isimi, o bẹ̀rẹ si ikọni ninu sinagogu; ẹnu si yà awọn enia pipọ ti o gbọ́, nwọn wipe, Nibo li ọkunrin yi gbé ti ri nkan wọnyi? irú ọgbọ́n kili eyi ti a fifun u, ti irú iṣẹ agbara bayi nti ọwọ́ rẹ̀ ṣe?

2 And when the sabbath day was come, he began to teach in the synagogue: and many hearing him were astonished, saying, From whence hath this man these things? and what wisdom is this which is given unto him, that even such mighty works are wrought by his hands?

3 Gbẹnagbẹna na kọ yi, ọmọ Maria, arakunrin Jakọbu, ati Jose, ati ti Juda, ati Simoni? awọn arabinrin rẹ̀ kò ha si wà nihinyi lọdọ wa? Nwọn si kọsẹ̀ lara rẹ̀.

3 Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, the brother of James, and Joses, and of Juda, and Simon? and are not his sisters here with us? And they were offended at him.

4 Ṣugbọn Jesu wi fun wọn pe, Ko si woli ti o wà laili ọlá, bikoṣe ni ilu on tikararẹ̀, ati larin awọn ibatan rẹ̀, ati ninu ile rẹ̀.

4 But Jesus said unto them, A prophet is not without honour, but in his own country, and among his own kin, and in his own house.

5 On ko si le ṣe iṣẹ agbara kan nibẹ̀, jù pe o gbé ọwọ́ rẹ̀ le awọn alaisan diẹ, o si mu wọn larada.

5 And he could there do no mighty work, save that he laid his hands upon a few sick folk, and healed them.

6 Ẹnu si yà a nitori aigbagbọ́ wọn. O si lọ si gbogbo iletò yiká, o nkọni.

6 And he marvelled because of their unbelief. And he went round about the villages, teaching.

7 O si pè awọn mejila na sọdọ rẹ̀, o bẹ̀rẹ si irán wọn lọ ni meji-meji; o si fi aṣẹ fun wọn lori awọn ẹmi aimọ́;

7 And he called unto him the twelve, and began to send them forth by two and two; and gave them power over unclean spirits;

8 O si paṣẹ fun wọn pe, ki nwọn ki o máṣe mu ohunkohun, lọ si àjo wọn, bikoṣe ọpá nikan; ki nwọn ki o máṣe mu àpo, tabi akara, tabi owo ninu asuwọn wọn:

8 And commanded them that they should take nothing for their journey, save a staff only; no scrip, no bread, no money in their purse:

9 Ṣugbọn ki nwọn ki o wọ̀ salubàta: ki nwọn máṣe wọ̀ ẹ̀wu meji.

9 But be shod with sandals; and not put on two coats.

10 O si wi fun wọn pe, Nibikibi ti ẹnyin ba wọ̀ ile kan, nibẹ̀ ni ki ẹ mã gbé titi ẹnyin o fi jade kuro nibẹ̀ na.

10 And he said unto them, In what place soever ye enter into an house, there abide till ye depart from that place.

11 Ẹnikẹni ti kò ba si gbà nyin, ti kò si gbọrọ̀ nyin, nigbati ẹnyin ba jade kuro nibẹ̀, ẹ gbọ̀n eruku ẹsẹ nyin fun ẹrí si wọn. Lõtọ ni mo wi fun nyin, yio san fun Sodomu ati Gomorra li ọjọ idajọ jù fun ilu nla na lọ.

11 And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear you, when ye depart thence, shake off the dust under your feet for a testimony against them. Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgment, than for that city.

12 Nwọn si jade lọ, nwọn si wasu ki awọn enia ki o le ronupiwada.

12 And they went out, and preached that men should repent.

13 Nwọn si lé ọ̀pọ awọn ẹmi èṣu jade, nwọn si fi oróro kùn ọ̀pọ awọn ti ara wọn ṣe alaida, nwọn si mu wọn larada.

13 And they cast out many devils, and anointed with oil many that were sick, and healed them.

14 Herodu ọba si gburo rẹ̀; (nitoriti okikí orukọ rẹ̀ kàn yiká:) o si wipe, Johanu Baptisti jinde kuro ninu oku, nitorina ni iṣẹ agbara ṣe nṣe lati ọwọ rẹ̀ wá.

14 And king Herod heard of him; (for his name was spread abroad:) and he said, That John the Baptist was risen from the dead, and therefore mighty works do shew forth themselves in him.

15 Awọn ẹlomiran wipe, Elijah ni. Ṣugbọn awọn miran wipe, Woli kan ni, tabi bi ọkan ninu awọn woli.

15 Others said, That it is Elias. And others said, That it is a prophet, or as one of the prophets.

16 Ṣugbọn nigbati Herodu gbọ́, o wipe, Johanu ni, ẹniti mo ti bẹ́ lori: on li o jinde kuro ninu okú.

16 But when Herod heard thereof, he said, It is John, whom I beheaded: he is risen from the dead.

17 Herodu tikararẹ̀ sá ti ranṣẹ mu Johanu, o si dè e sinu tubu nitori Herodia, aya Filippi arakunrin rẹ̀: on sá ti fi i ṣe aya.

17 For Herod himself had sent forth and laid hold upon John, and bound him in prison for Herodias' sake, his brother Philip's wife: for he had married her.

18 Johanu sá ti wi fun Herodu pe, kò tọ́ fun iwọ lati ni aya arakunrin rẹ.

18 For John had said unto Herod, It is not lawful for thee to have thy brother's wife.

19 Nitorina ni Herodia ṣe ni i sinu, on si nfẹ ipa a; ṣugbọn kò le ṣe e:

19 Therefore Herodias had a quarrel against him, and would have killed him; but she could not:

20 Nitori Herodu bẹ̀ru Johanu, o si mọ̀ ọ li olõtọ enia ati ẹni mimọ́, o si ntọju rẹ̀; nigbati o gbọrọ rẹ̀, o ṣe ohun pipọ, o si fi ayọ̀ gbọrọ rẹ̀.

20 For Herod feared John, knowing that he was a just man and an holy, and observed him; and when he heard him, he did many things, and heard him gladly.

21 Nigbati ọjọ ti o wọ̀ si de, ti Herodu sàse ọjọ ibí rẹ̀ fun awọn ijoye rẹ̀, awọn balogun, ati awọn olori ni Galili;

21 And when a convenient day was come, that Herod on his birthday made a supper to his lords, high captains, and chief estates of Galilee;

22 Nigbati ọmọbinrin Herodia si wọle, ti o si njó, o mu inu Herodu dùn ati awọn ti o ba a joko, ọba si wi fun ọmọbinrin na pe, Bère ohunkohun ti iwọ fẹ lọwọ mi, emi o si fifun ọ.

22 And when the daughter of the said Herodias came in, and danced, and pleased Herod and them that sat with him, the king said unto the damsel, Ask of me whatsoever thou wilt, and I will give it thee.

23 O si bura fun u, wipe, Ohunkohun ti iwọ ba bere lọwọ mi, emi o si fifun ọ, titi fi de idameji ijọba mi.

23 And he sware unto her, Whatsoever thou shalt ask of me, I will give it thee, unto the half of my kingdom.

24 O si jade lọ, o wi fun iya rẹ̀ pe, Kini ki emi ki o bère? On si wipe, Ori Johanu Baptisti.

24 And she went forth, and said unto her mother, What shall I ask? And she said, The head of John the Baptist.

25 Lojukanna, o si wọle tọ̀ ọba wá kánkan, o bère, wipe, emi nfẹ ki iwọ ki o fi ori Johanu Baptisti fun mi ninu awopọkọ nisisiyi.

25 And she came in straightway with haste unto the king, and asked, saying, I will that thou give me by and by in a charger the head of John the Baptist.

26 Inu ọba si bajẹ gidigidi; ṣugbọn nitori ibura rẹ̀, ati nitori awọn ti o bá a joko pọ̀, kò si fẹ ikọ̀ fun u.

26 And the king was exceeding sorry; yet for his oath's sake, and for their sakes which sat with him, he would not reject her.

27 Lọgan ọba si rán ẹṣọ́ kan, o fi aṣẹ fun u pe, ki o gbé ori rẹ̀ wá: o si lọ, o bẹ́ Johanu lori ninu tubu.

27 And immediately the king sent an executioner, and commanded his head to be brought: and he went and beheaded him in the prison,

28 O si gbé ori rẹ̀ wá ninu awopọkọ, o si fi fun ọmọbinrin na: ọmọbinrin na si fi fun iya rẹ̀.

28 And brought his head in a charger, and gave it to the damsel: and the damsel gave it to her mother.

29 Nigbati awọn ọmọ-ẹhin rẹ̀ si gbọ́, nwọn wá, nwọn gbé okú rẹ̀, nwọn si lọ tẹ́ ẹ sinu ibojì.

29 And when his disciples heard of it, they came and took up his corpse, and laid it in a tomb.

30 Awọn aposteli si kó ara wọn jọ sọdọ Jesu, nwọn si ròhin ohungbogbo ti nwọn ti ṣe fun u, ati ohungbogbo ti nwọn ti kọni.

30 And the apostles gathered themselves together unto Jesus, and told him all things, both what they had done, and what they had taught.

31 O si wi fun wọn pe, Ẹ wá ẹnyin tikaranyin si ibi ijù li apakan, ki ẹ si simi diẹ: nitori ọ̀pọlọpọ li awọn ti nwá ti nwọn si nlọ, nwọn kò tilẹ ri ãye tobẹ̃ ti nwọn iba fi jẹun.

31 And he said unto them, Come ye yourselves apart into a desert place, and rest a while: for there were many coming and going, and they had no leisure so much as to eat.

32 Nwọn si ba ti ọkọ̀ lọ si ibi ijù awọn nikan.

32 And they departed into a desert place by ship privately.

33 Awọn enia si ri wọn nigbati nwọn nlọ, ọ̀pọlọpọ si mọ̀ ọ, nwọn si sare ba ti ẹsẹ lọ sibẹ̀ lati ilu nla gbogbo wá, nwọn si ṣiwaju wọn, nwọn si jùmọ wá sọdọ rẹ̀.

33 And the people saw them departing, and many knew him, and ran afoot thither out of all cities, and outwent them, and came together unto him.

34 Nigbati Jesu jade, o ri ọ̀pọ enia, ãnu wọn ṣe e, nitoriti nwọn dabi awọn agutan ti kò li oluṣọ: o si bẹ̀rẹ si ima kọ́ wọn li ohun pipọ.

34 And Jesus, when he came out, saw much people, and was moved with compassion toward them, because they were as sheep not having a shepherd: and he began to teach them many things.

35 Nigbati ọjọ si bù lọ tan, awọn ọmọ-ẹhin rẹ̀ tọ̀ ọ wá, wipe, Ibi ijù li eyi, ọjọ si bù lọ tan:

35 And when the day was now far spent, his disciples came unto him, and said, This is a desert place, and now the time is far passed:

36 Rán wọn lọ, ki nwọn ki o le lọ si àgbegbe ilu, ati si iletò ti o yiká, ki nwọn ki o le rà onjẹ fun ara wọn: nitoriti nwọn kò li ohun ti nwọn o jẹ.

36 Send them away, that they may go into the country round about, and into the villages, and buy themselves bread: for they have nothing to eat.

37 Ṣugbọn o dahùn o si wi fun wọn pe, Ẹ fun wọn li onjẹ. Nwọn si wi fun u pe, Awa o ha lọ irà akara igba owo idẹ ki a si fifun wọn jẹ?

37 He answered and said unto them, Give ye them to eat. And they say unto him, Shall we go and buy two hundred pennyworth of bread, and give them to eat?

38 O si wi fun wọn pe, Iṣu akara melo li ẹnyin ni? ẹ lọ wò o. Nigbati nwọn si mọ̀, nwọn wipe, Marun, pẹlu ẹja meji.

38 He saith unto them, How many loaves have ye? go and see. And when they knew, they say, Five, and two fishes.

39 O si wi fun wọn pe, ki nwọn ki o mu gbogbo wọn joko li ẹgbẹgbẹ lori koriko.

39 And he commanded them to make all sit down by companies upon the green grass.

40 Nwọn si joko li ẹgbẹgbẹ li ọrọrun ati li aradọta.

40 And they sat down in ranks, by hundreds, and by fifties.

41 Nigbati o si mu iṣu akara marun ati ẹja meji na, o gbé oju soke, o si sure, o si bù iṣu akara na, o si fifun awọn ọmọ-ẹhin rẹ̀, ki nwọn ki o gbé e kalẹ niwaju wọn; ati awọn ẹja meji na li o si pín fun gbogbo wọn.

41 And when he had taken the five loaves and the two fishes, he looked up to heaven, and blessed, and brake the loaves, and gave them to his disciples to set before them; and the two fishes divided he among them all.

42 Gbogbo wọn si jẹ, nwọn si yó.

42 And they did all eat, and were filled.

43 Nwọn si kó agbọ̀n mejila kún fun ajẹkù, ati ti ẹja pẹlu.

43 And they took up twelve baskets full of the fragments, and of the fishes.

44 Awọn ti o si jẹ ìṣu akara na to iwọn ẹgbẹdọgbọn ọkunrin.

44 And they that did eat of the loaves were about five thousand men.

45 Lojukanna li o si rọ̀ awọn ọmọ-ẹhin rẹ̀ lati bọ sinu ọkọ̀, ki nwọn ki o si ṣiwaju lọ si apa keji si Betsaida, nigbati on tikararẹ̀ tú awọn enia ká.

45 And straightway he constrained his disciples to get into the ship, and to go to the other side before unto Bethsaida, while he sent away the people.

46 Nigbati o si rán wọn lọ tan, o gùn ori òke lọ igbadura.

46 And when he had sent them away, he departed into a mountain to pray.

47 Nigbati alẹ si lẹ, ọkọ̀ si wà larin okun, on nikan si wà ni ilẹ.

47 And when even was come, the ship was in the midst of the sea, and he alone on the land.

48 And he saw them toiling in rowing; for the wind was contrary unto them: and about the fourth watch of the night he cometh unto them, walking upon the sea, and would have passed by them.

49 Ṣugbọn nigbati nwọn ri ti o nrìn loju omi, nwọn ṣebi iwin ni, nwọn si kigbe soke:

49 But when they saw him walking upon the sea, they supposed it had been a spirit, and cried out:

50 Nitori gbogbo wọn li o ri i, ti ẹ̀ru si ba wọn. Ṣugbọn lojukanna o si ba wọn sọ̀rọ, o si wi fun wọn pe, Ẹ tújuka: Emi ni; ẹ má bẹ̀ru.

50 For they all saw him, and were troubled. And immediately he talked with them, and saith unto them, Be of good cheer: it is I; be not afraid.

51 O si wọ̀ inu ọkọ̀ tọ̀ wọn lọ; afẹfẹ si da: ẹ̀ru si ba wọn rekọja gidigidi ninu ara wọn, ẹnu si yà wọn.

51 And he went up unto them into the ship; and the wind ceased: and they were sore amazed in themselves beyond measure, and wondered.

52 Nwọn kò sá ronu iṣẹ iyanu ti iṣu akara: nitoriti ọkàn wọn le.

52 For they considered not the miracle of the loaves: for their heart was hardened.

53 Nigbati nwọn si rekọja tan, nwọn de ilẹ awọn ara Genesareti, nwọn si sunmọ eti ilẹ.

53 And when they had passed over, they came into the land of Gennesaret, and drew to the shore.

54 Bi nwọn si ti njade lati inu ọkọ̀ wá, lojukanna nwọn si mọ̀ ọ,

54 And when they were come out of the ship, straightway they knew him,

55 And ran through that whole region round about, and began to carry about in beds those that were sick, where they heard he was.

56 Nibikibi ti o ba si gbé wọ̀, ni iletò gbogbo, tabi ilu nla, tabi arọko, nwọn ngbé olokunrun kalẹ ni igboro, nwọn si bẹ̀ ẹ pe, ki nwọn ki o sá le fi ọwọ́ kàn iṣẹti aṣọ rẹ̀: ìwọn awọn ti o si fi ọwọ́ kàn a, a mu wọn larada.

56 And whithersoever he entered, into villages, or cities, or country, they laid the sick in the streets, and besought him that they might touch if it were but the border of his garment: and as many as touched him were made whole.
