1 O si ṣe, nigbati gbogbo awọn enia rekọja Jordani tán, ni OLUWA wi fun Joṣua pe,

1 And it came to pass, when all the people were clean passed over Jordan, that the LORD spake unto Joshua, saying,

2 Mú ọkunrin mejila ninu awọn enia, ọkunrin kan ninu olukuluku ẹ̀ya,

2 Take you twelve men out of the people, out of every tribe a man,

3 Ki ẹnyin si paṣẹ fun wọn pe. Ẹ gbé okuta mejila lati ihin lọ lãrin Jordani, ni ibi ti ẹsẹ̀ awọn alufa gbé duro ṣinṣin nì, ki ẹnyin ki o si rù wọn kọja pẹlu nyin, ẹ si fi wọn si ibùsun, ni ibi ti ẹnyin o sùn li alẹ yi.

3 And command ye them, saying, Take you hence out of the midst of Jordan, out of the place where the priests' feet stood firm, twelve stones, and ye shall carry them over with you, and leave them in the lodging place, where ye shall lodge this night.

4 Nigbana ni Joṣua pè awọn ọkunrin mejila, ti o ti pèse silẹ ninu awọn ọmọ Israeli, ọkunrin kan ninu olukuluku ẹ̀ya:

4 Then Joshua called the twelve men, whom he had prepared of the children of Israel, out of every tribe a man:

5 Joṣua si wi fun wọn pe, Ẹ kọja lọ niwaju apoti OLUWA Ọlọrun nyin si ãrin Jordani, ki olukuluku ninu nyin ki o gbé okuta kọkan lé ejika rẹ̀, gẹgẹ bi iye ẹ̀ya awọn ọmọ Israeli:

5 And Joshua said unto them, Pass over before the ark of the LORD your God into the midst of Jordan, and take ye up every man of you a stone upon his shoulder, according unto the number of the tribes of the children of Israel:

6 Ki eyi ki o le jẹ́ àmi lãrin nyin, nigbati awọn ọmọ nyin ba bère lọwọ awọn baba wọn lẹhin ọ̀la, wipe, Èredi okuta wọnyi?

6 That this may be a sign among you, that when your children ask their fathers in time to come, saying, What mean ye by these stones?

7 Nigbana li ẹnyin o da wọn lohùn pe, Nitori a ke omi Jordani niwaju apoti majẹmu OLUWA; nigbati o rekọja Jordani, a ke omi Jordani kuro: okuta wọnyi yio si jasi iranti fun awọn ọmọ Israeli lailai.

7 Then ye shall answer them, That the waters of Jordan were cut off before the ark of the covenant of the LORD; when it passed over Jordan, the waters of Jordan were cut off: and these stones shall be for a memorial unto the children of Israel for ever.

8 Awọn ọmọ Israeli si ṣe gẹgẹ bi Joṣua ti paṣẹ, nwọn si gbé okuta mejila lati inu ãrin Jordani lọ, bi OLUWA ti wi fun Joṣua, gẹgẹ bi iye ẹ̀ya awọn ọmọ Israeli; nwọn si rù wọn kọja pẹlu wọn lọ si ibùsun, nwọn si gbé wọn kalẹ nibẹ̀.

8 And the children of Israel did so as Joshua commanded, and took up twelve stones out of the midst of Jordan, as the LORD spake unto Joshua, according to the number of the tribes of the children of Israel, and carried them over with them unto the place where they lodged, and laid them down there.

9 Joṣua si tò okuta mejila jọ lãrin Jordani, ni ibi ti ẹsẹ̀ awọn alufa ti o rù apoti majẹmu na gbé duro: nwọn si mbẹ nibẹ̀ titi di oni-oloni.

9 And Joshua set up twelve stones in the midst of Jordan, in the place where the feet of the priests which bare the ark of the covenant stood: and they are there unto this day.

10 Nitoriti awọn alufa ti o rù apoti na duro lãrin Jordani, titi ohun gbogbo fi pari ti OLUWA palaṣẹ fun Joṣua lati sọ fun awọn enia, gẹgẹ bi gbogbo eyiti Mose palaṣẹ fun Joṣua: awọn enia na si yára nwọn si rekọja.

10 For the priests which bare the ark stood in the midst of Jordan, until everything was finished that the LORD commanded Joshua to speak unto the people, according to all that Moses commanded Joshua: and the people hasted and passed over.

11 O si ṣe, nigbati gbogbo awọn enia na rekọja tán, ni apoti OLUWA rekọja, ati awọn alufa, li oju awọn enia.

11 And it came to pass, when all the people were clean passed over, that the ark of the LORD passed over, and the priests, in the presence of the people.

12 Awọn ọmọ Reubeni, ati awọn ọmọ Gadi, ati àbọ ẹ̀ya Manasse, si rekọja ni ihamọra niwaju awọn ọmọ Israeli, gẹgẹ bi Mose ti sọ fun wọn:

12 And the children of Reuben, and the children of Gad, and half the tribe of Manasseh, passed over armed before the children of Israel, as Moses spake unto them:

13 Ìwọn ọkẹ meji enia ti o mura ogun, rekọja niwaju OLUWA fun ogun, si pẹtẹlẹ̀ Jeriko.

13 About forty thousand prepared for war passed over before the LORD unto battle, to the plains of Jericho.

14 Li ọjọ́ na OLUWA gbé Joṣua ga li oju gbogbo Israeli: nwọn si bẹ̀ru rẹ̀, gẹgẹ bi nwọn ti bẹ̀ru Mose li ọjọ́ aiye rẹ̀ gbogbo.

14 On that day the LORD magnified Joshua in the sight of all Israel; and they feared him, as they feared Moses, all the days of his life.

15 OLUWA si wi fun Joṣua pe,

15 And the LORD spake unto Joshua, saying,

16 Paṣẹ fun awọn alufa ti o rù apoti ẹri nì pe, ki nwọn ki o ti inu Jordani jade.

16 Command the priests that bear the ark of the testimony, that they come up out of Jordan.

17 Nitorina Joṣua paṣẹ fun awọn alufa wipe, Ẹ ti inu Jordani jade.

17 Joshua therefore commanded the priests, saying, Come ye up out of Jordan.

18 O si ṣe, nigbati awọn alufa ti o rù apoti majẹmu OLUWA ti ãrin Jordani jade, ti awọn alufa si gbé atẹlẹsẹ̀ wọn soke si ilẹ gbigbẹ, ni omi Jordani pada si ipò rẹ̀, o si ṣàn bò gbogbo bèbe rẹ̀, gẹgẹ bi ti iṣaju.

18 And it came to pass, when the priests that bare the ark of the covenant of the LORD were come up out of the midst of Jordan, and the soles of the priests' feet were lifted up unto the dry land, that the waters of Jordan returned unto their place, and flowed over all his banks, as they did before.

19 Awọn enia si ti inu Jordani gòke ni ijọ́ kẹwa oṣù kini, nwọn si dó ni Gilgali, ni ìha ìla-õrùn Jeriko.

19 And the people came up out of Jordan on the tenth day of the first month, and encamped in Gilgal, in the east border of Jericho.

20 Ati okuta mejila wọnni ti nwọn gbé ti inu Jordani lọ, ni Joṣua tòjọ ni Gilgali.

20 And those twelve stones, which they took out of Jordan, did Joshua pitch in Gilgal.

21 O si wi fun awọn ọmọ Israeli pe, Nigbati awọn ọmọ nyin yio bère lọwọ awọn baba wọn lẹhin ọ̀la wipe, Ẽredi okuta wọnyi?

21 And he spake unto the children of Israel, saying, When your children shall ask their fathers in time to come, saying, What mean these stones?

22 Nigbana li ẹnyin o jẹ ki awọn ọmọ nyin ki o mọ̀ pe, Israeli là Jordani yi kọja ni ilẹ gbigbẹ.

22 Then ye shall let your children know, saying, Israel came over this Jordan on dry land.

23 Nitoriti OLUWA Ọlọrun nyin mu omi Jordani gbẹ kuro niwaju nyin, titi ẹnyin fi là a kọja, gẹgẹ bi OLUWA Ọlọrun nyin ti ṣe si Okun Pupa, ti o mu gbẹ kuro niwaju wa, titi awa fi là a kọja:

23 For the LORD your God dried up the waters of Jordan from before you, until ye were passed over, as the LORD your God did to the Red sea, which he dried up from before us, until we were gone over:

24 Ki gbogbo enia aiye ki o le mọ ọwọ́ OLUWA, pe o lagbara; ki nwọn ki o le ma bẹ̀ru OLUWA Ọlọrun nyin lailai.

24 That all the people of the earth might know the hand of the LORD, that it is mighty: that ye might fear the LORD your God for ever.
