Read Isaiah 8
1 PẸLUPẸLU Oluwa wi fun mi pe, Iwọ mu iwe nla kan, ki o si fi kalamu enia kọwe si inu rẹ̀ niti Maher-ṣalal-haṣ-basi.
1 Moreover the LORD said unto me, Take thee a great roll, and write in it with a man's pen concerning Maher-shalal-hash-baz.
2 Emi si mu awọn ẹlẹri otitọ sọdọ mi lati ṣe ẹlẹri. Uriah alufa, ati Sekariah ọmọ Jeberekiah.
2 And I took unto me faithful witnesses to record, Uriah the priest, and Zechariah the son of Jeberechiah.
3 And I went unto the prophetess; and she conceived, and bare a son. Then said the LORD to me, Call his name Maher-shalal-hash-baz.
4 Nitoripe ki ọmọ na to ni oye ati ke pe, Baba mi, ati iya mi, ọrọ̀ Damasku ati ikogun Samaria ni a o mu kuro niwaju ọba Assiria.
4 For before the child shall have knowledge to cry, My father, and my mother, the riches of Damascus and the spoil of Samaria shall be taken away before the king of Assyria.
5 Oluwa si tun wi fun mi pe,
5 The LORD spake also unto me again, saying,
6 Niwọn bi enia yi ti kọ̀ omi Ṣiloa ti nṣàn jẹjẹ silẹ, ti nwọn si nyọ̀ ninu Resini ati ọmọ Remaliah.
6 Forasmuch as this people refuseth the waters of Shiloah that go softly, and rejoice in Rezin and Remaliah's son;
7 Njẹ nitorina kiyesi i, Oluwa nfà omi odò ti o le, ti o si pọ̀, wá sori wọn, ani ọba Assiria ati gbogbo ogo rẹ̀; yio si wá sori gbogbo ọ̀na odò rẹ̀, yio si gun ori gbogbo bèbe rẹ̀.
7 Now therefore, behold, the Lord bringeth up upon them the waters of the river, strong and many, even the king of Assyria, and all his glory: and he shall come up over all his channels, and go over all his banks:
8 Yio si kọja li arin Juda; yio si ṣàn bò o mọlẹ yio si mù u de ọrùn, ninà iyẹ rẹ̀ yio si kún ibú ilẹ rẹ, iwọ Immanueli.
8 And he shall pass through Judah; he shall overflow and go over, he shall reach even to the neck; and the stretching out of his wings shall fill the breadth of thy land, O Immanuel.
9 Ẹ ko ara nyin jọ, ẹnyin enia, a o si fọ nyin tũtu: ẹ si fi eti silẹ, gbogbo ẹnyin ará ilẹ jijìna: ẹ di ara nyin li àmure, a o si fọ nyin tũtu; ẹ di ara nyin li àmure, a o si fọ nyin tũtu.
9 Associate yourselves, O ye people, and ye shall be broken in pieces; and give ear, all ye of far countries: gird yourselves, and ye shall be broken in pieces; gird yourselves, and ye shall be broken in pieces.
10 Ẹ gbìmọ pọ̀ yio si di asan; ẹ sọ̀rọ na, ki yio si duro: nitoripe Ọlọrun wà pẹlu wa.
10 Take counsel together, and it shall come to nought; speak the word, and it shall not stand: for God is with us.
11 Nitoriti Oluwa wi bayi fun mi, nipa ọwọ agbara, o si kọ mi ki nmá ba rìn ni ọ̀na enia yi, pe,
11 For the LORD spake thus to me with a strong hand, and instructed me that I should not walk in the way of this people, saying,
12 Ẹ máṣe pè gbogbo eyi ni imulẹ ti awọn enia yi pè ni imulẹ: bẹ̃ni ẹ máṣe bẹ̀ru ibẹ̀ru wọn, ẹ má si ṣe foya.
12 Say ye not, A confederacy, to all them to whom this people shall say, A confederacy; neither fear ye their fear, nor be afraid.
13 Yà Oluwa awọn ọmọ-ogun tikalarẹ̀ si mimọ́; si jẹ ki o ṣe ẹ̀ru nyin, si jẹ ki o ṣe ifòya nyin.
13 Sanctify the LORD of hosts himself; and let him be your fear, and let him be your dread.
14 On o si wà fun ibi mimọ́, ṣugbọn fun okuta idùgbolu, ati fun apata ẹ̀ṣẹ, si ile Israeli mejeji, fun ẹgẹ, ati fun okùn didẹ si awọn ara Jerusalemu.
14 And he shall be for a sanctuary; but for a stone of stumbling and for a rock of offence to both the houses of Israel, for a gin and for a snare to the inhabitants of Jerusalem.
15 Ọ̀pọlọpọ ninu wọn yio si kọsẹ, nwọn o si ṣubu, a o si fọ wọn, a o si mu wọn.
15 And many among them shall stumble, and fall, and be broken, and be snared, and be taken.
16 Di ẹri na, fi edídi di ofin na lãrin awọn ọmọ-ẹhin mi.
16 Bind up the testimony, seal the law among my disciples.
17 Emi o si duro de Oluwa, ti o pa oju rẹ̀ mọ kuro lara ile Jakobu, emi o si ma wo ọ̀na rẹ̀.
17 And I will wait upon the LORD, that hideth his face from the house of Jacob, and I will look for him.
18 Kiyesi i, emi ati awọn ọmọ ti Oluwa ti fi fun mi wà fun àmi ati fun iyanu ni Israeli, lati ọdọ Oluwa awọn ọmọ-ogun wá, ti ngbe òke Sioni.
18 Behold, I and the children whom the LORD hath given me are for signs and for wonders in Israel from the LORD of hosts, which dwelleth in mount Zion.
19 Nigbati nwọn ba si wi fun nyin pe, Ẹ wá awọn ti mba okú lò, ati awọn oṣó ti nke, ti nsi nkùn, kò ha yẹ ki orilẹ-ède ki o wá Ọlọrun wọn jù ki awọn alãye ma wá awọn okú?
19 And when they shall say unto you, Seek unto them that have familiar spirits, and unto wizards that peep, and that mutter: should not a people seek unto their God? for the living to the dead?
20 Si ofin ati si ẹri: bi nwọn kò ba sọ gẹgẹ bi ọ̀rọ yi, nitoriti kò si imọlẹ ninu wọn ni.
20 To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.
21 Nwọn o si kọja lọ lãrin rẹ̀, ninu inilara ati ebi: yio si ṣe pe nigbati ebi yio pa wọn, nwọn o ma kanra, nwọn o si fi ọba ati Ọlọrun wọn re, nwọn o si ma wò òke.
21 And they shall pass through it, hardly bestead and hungry: and it shall come to pass, that when they shall be hungry, they shall fret themselves, and curse their king and their God, and look upward.
22 Nwọn o si wò ilẹ, si kiyesi i, iyọnu ati okùnkun, iṣuju irora: a o si le wọn lọ sinu okùnkun.
22 And they shall look unto the earth; and behold trouble and darkness, dimness of anguish; and they shall be driven to darkness.
