Read Isaiah 47

1 SỌKALẸ, si joko ninu ekuru, iwọ wundia ọmọbinrin Babiloni, joko ni ilẹ: itẹ́ kò si, iwọ ọmọbinrin ara Kaldea: nitori a kì o pè ọ ni ẹlẹ́gẹ on aláfẹ mọ.

1 Come down, and sit in the dust, O virgin daughter of Babylon, sit on the ground: there is no throne, O daughter of the Chaldeans: for thou shalt no more be called tender and delicate.

2 Gbe ọlọ, si lọ̀ iyẹfun, ṣi iboju rẹ, ká aṣọ ẹsẹ, ká aṣọ itan, là odo wọnni kọja.

2 Take the millstones, and grind meal: uncover thy locks, make bare the leg, uncover the thigh, pass over the rivers.

3 A o ṣi ihoho rẹ, a o si ri itiju rẹ pẹlu; emi o gbẹsan, enia kì yio sí lati da mi duro.

3 Thy nakedness shall be uncovered, yea, thy shame shall be seen: I will take vengeance, and I will not meet thee as a man.

4 Olurapada wa, Oluwa awọn ọmọ-ogun li orukọ rẹ̀, Ẹni-Mimọ Israeli.

4 As for our redeemer, the LORD of hosts is his name, the Holy One of Israel.

5 Joko, dakẹ jẹ, lọ sinu okùnkun, iwọ ọmọbinrin ara Kaldea, nitori a ki yio pe ọ ni Iyálode awọn ijọba mọ.

5 Sit thou silent, and get thee into darkness, O daughter of the Chaldeans: for thou shalt no more be called, The lady of kingdoms.

6 Emi ti binu si enia mi, emi ti sọ ilẹ ini mi di aimọ́, mo si ti fi wọn le ọ lọwọ: iwọ kò kãnu wọn, iwọ fi ajàga wuwo le awọn alagba lori.

6 I was wroth with my people, I have polluted mine inheritance, and given them into thine hand: thou didst shew them no mercy; upon the ancient hast thou very heavily laid thy yoke.

7 Iwọ si wipe, Emi o ma jẹ Iyalode titi lai: bẹ̃ni iwọ kò fi nkan wọnyi si aiya rẹ, bẹ̃ni iwọ kò ranti igbẹhin rẹ.

7 And thou saidst, I shall be a lady for ever: so that thou didst not lay these things to thy heart, neither didst remember the latter end of it.

8 Nitorina gbọ́ eyi, iwọ alafẹ́, ti o joko li ainani, ti o wi li ọkàn rẹ pe, Emi ni, kò si si ẹlomiran lẹhin mi: emi ki yio joko bi opo, bẹ̃ni emi ki yio mọ̀ òfo ọmọ.

8 Therefore hear now this, thou that art given to pleasures, that dwellest carelessly, that sayest in thine heart, I am, and none else beside me; I shall not sit as a widow, neither shall I know the loss of children:

9 Ṣugbọn nkan meji wọnyi ni yio deba ọ li ojiji, li ọjọ kan, òfo ọmọ ati opo: nwọn o ba ọ perepere, nitori ọpọlọpọ iṣẹ́ ajẹ́ rẹ, ati nitori ọpọlọpọ iṣẹ́ afọṣẹ rẹ.

9 But these two things shall come to thee in a moment in one day, the loss of children, and widowhood: they shall come upon thee in their perfection for the multitude of thy sorceries, and for the great abundance of thine enchantments.

10 Nitori ti iwọ ti gbẹkẹle ìwa buburu rẹ: iwọ ti wipe, Kò si ẹnikan ti o ri mi. Ọgbọ́n rẹ ati ìmọ rẹ, o ti mu ọ ṣinà; iwọ si ti wi li ọkàn rẹ pe, Emi ni, ko si ẹlomiran lẹhin mi.

10 For thou hast trusted in thy wickedness: thou hast said, None seeth me. Thy wisdom and thy knowledge, it hath perverted thee; and thou hast said in thine heart, I am, and none else beside me.

11 Nitorina ni ibi yio ṣe ba ọ; iwọ ki yio mọ̀ ibẹrẹ rẹ̀: ibi yio si ṣubu lù ọ; ti iwọ kì yio le mu kuro: idahoro yio deba ọ lojiji, iwọ kì yio si mọ̀.

11 Therefore shall evil come upon thee; thou shalt not know from whence it riseth: and mischief shall fall upon thee; thou shalt not be able to put it off: and desolation shall come upon thee suddenly, which thou shalt not know.

12 Duro nisisiyi, ti iwọ ti iṣẹ afọṣẹ rẹ, ati ọpọlọpọ iṣẹ ajẹ́ rẹ, eyi ti o ti fi nṣe iṣẹ iṣe lati igba ewe rẹ wá; bi o ba ṣepe o lè jẹ erè fun ọ, bi o ba ṣe pe iwọ lè bori.

12 Stand now with thine enchantments, and with the multitude of thy sorceries, wherein thou hast laboured from thy youth; if so be thou shalt be able to profit, if so be thou mayest prevail.

13 Arẹ̀ mu ọ nipa ọpọlọpọ ìgbimọ rẹ. Jẹ ki awọn awoye-ọrun, awọn awoye-irawọ, awọn afi-oṣupasọ-asọtẹlẹ, dide duro nisisiyi, ki nwọn si gbà ọ lọwọ nkan wọnyi ti yio ba ọ.

13 Thou art wearied in the multitude of thy counsels. Let now the astrologers, the stargazers, the monthly prognosticators, stand up, and save thee from these things that shall come upon thee.

14 Kiye si i, nwọn o dabi akekù koriko: iná yio jo wọn: nwọn ki yio gba ara wọn lọwọ agbara ọwọ́ iná; ẹyin iná kan ki yio si lati yá, tabi iná lati joko niwaju rẹ̀.

14 Behold, they shall be as stubble; the fire shall burn them; they shall not deliver themselves from the power of the flame: there shall not be a coal to warm at, nor fire to sit before it.

15 Bayi ni awọn ti iwọ ti ba ṣiṣẹ yio jẹ fun ọ, awọn oniṣowo rẹ, lati ewe rẹ wá; nwọn o kiri lọ, olukuluku si ẹkùn rẹ̀; ko si ẹnikan ti yio gbà ọ.

15 Thus shall they be unto thee with whom thou hast laboured, even thy merchants, from thy youth: they shall wander every one to his quarter; none shall save thee.
