1 Ọ̀rọ-ìmọ ti Habakuku wolii rí.

1 The burden which Habakkuk the prophet did see.

2 Oluwa, emi o ti ke pẹ to, ti iwọ kì yio fi gbọ́! ti emi o kigbe si ọ, niti ìwa-ipa, ti iwọ kì yio si gbalà!

2 O LORD, how long shall I cry, and thou wilt not hear! even cry out unto thee of violence, and thou wilt not save!

3 Ẽṣe ti o mu mi ri aiṣedede, ti o si jẹ ki nma wò ìwa-ìka? nitori ikógun ati ìwa-ipá wà niwaju mi: awọn ti si nrú ijà ati ãwọ̀ soke mbẹ.

3 Why dost thou shew me iniquity, and cause me to behold grievance? for spoiling and violence are before me: and there are that raise up strife and contention.

4 Nitorina li ofin ṣe di ẹ̀rọ, ti idajọ kò si jade lọ li ẹtọ́; nitoriti ẹni buburu yí olododo ka; nitorina ni idajọ ẹbi ṣe njade.

4 Therefore the law is slacked, and judgment doth never go forth: for the wicked doth compass about the righteous; therefore wrong judgment proceedeth.

5 Ẹ wò inu awọn keferi, ki ẹ si wò o, ki hà ki o si ṣe nyin gidigidi: nitoriti emi o ṣe iṣẹ kan li ọjọ nyin, ti ẹ kì yio si gbagbọ́, bi a tilẹ sọ fun nyin.

5 Behold ye among the heathen, and regard, and wonder marvellously: for I will work a work in your days, which ye will not believe, though it be told you.

6 Nitoripe, wò o, emi gbe awọn ara Kaldea dide, orilẹ-ède ti o korò, ti o si yára, ti yio rìn ibú ilẹ na ja, lati ni ibùgbe wọnni, ti kì iṣe ti wọn.

6 For, lo, I raise up the Chaldeans, that bitter and hasty nation, which shall march through the breadth of the land, to possess the dwellingplaces that are not theirs.

7 Nwọn ni ẹ̀ru, nwọn si fò ni laiyà: idajọ wọn, ati ọlanla wọn, yio ma ti inu wọn jade.

7 They are terrible and dreadful: their judgment and their dignity shall proceed of themselves.

8 Ẹṣin wọn pẹlu yara jù ẹkùn lọ, nwọn si muná jù ikõkò aṣãlẹ lọ: ẹlẹṣin wọn yio si tàn ara wọn ka, ẹlẹṣin wọn yio si ti ọ̀na jijìn rére wá; nwọn o si fò bi idì ti nyára lati jẹun.

8 Their horses also are swifter than the leopards, and are more fierce than the evening wolves: and their horsemen shall spread themselves, and their horsemen shall come from far; they shall fly as the eagle that hasteth to eat.

9 Gbogbo wọn o si wá fun ìwa-ipá; iwò oju wọn o si wà siwaju, nwọn o si kó igbèkun jọ bi yanrìn.

9 They shall come all for violence: their faces shall sup up as the east wind, and they shall gather the captivity as the sand.

10 And they shall scoff at the kings, and the princes shall be a scorn unto them: they shall deride every strong hold; for they shall heap dust, and take it.

11 Nigbana ni inu rẹ̀ yio yipadà, yio si rekọja, yio si ṣẹ̀, ni kikà agbara rẹ̀ yi si iṣẹ òriṣa rẹ̀.

11 Then shall his mind change, and he shall pass over, and offend, imputing this his power unto his god.

12 Lati aiyeraiye ki iwọ ti wà? Oluwa Ọlọrun mi, Ẹni Mimọ́ mi? awa kì yio kú. Oluwa, iwọ ti yàn wọn fun idajọ; Ọlọrun alagbara, iwọ ti fi ẹsẹ̀ wọn mulẹ fun ibawi.

12 Art thou not from everlasting, O LORD my God, mine Holy One? we shall not die. O LORD, thou hast ordained them for judgment; and, O mighty God, thou hast established them for correction.

13 Oju rẹ mọ́ jù ẹniti iwò ibi lọ, iwọ kò si lè wò ìwa-ìka: nitori kini iwọ ha ṣe nwò awọn ti nhùwa arekerekè, ti o si pa ẹnu rẹ mọ, nigbati ẹni-buburu jẹ ẹniti iṣe olododo jù u run?

13 Thou art of purer eyes than to behold evil, and canst not look on iniquity: wherefore lookest thou upon them that deal treacherously, and holdest thy tongue when the wicked devoureth the man that is more righteous than he?

14 Ti iwọ si nṣe enia bi ẹja okun, bi ohun ti nrakò, ti kò ni alakoso lori wọn?

14 And makest men as the fishes of the sea, as the creeping things, that have no ruler over them?

15 Iwọ ni àwọn lati fi gbé gbogbo wọn, nwọn nfi àwọn mu wọn, nwọn si nfi awò wọn kó wọn: nitorina ni nwọn ṣe nyọ̀, ti inu wọn si ndùn.

15 They take up all of them with the angle, they catch them in their net, and gather them in their drag: therefore they rejoice and are glad.

16 Nitorina, nwọn nrubọ si àwọn wọn, nwọn si nsùn turari fun awò wọn; nitori nipa wọn ni ipin wọn ṣe li ọrá, ti onjẹ wọn si fi di pupọ̀.

16 Therefore they sacrifice unto their net, and burn incense unto their drag; because by them their portion is fat, and their meat plenteous.

17 Nitorina, nwọn o ha ma dà àwọn wọn, nwọn kì yio ha dẹkun lati ma fọ́ orilẹ-ède gbogbo?

17 Shall they therefore empty their net, and not spare continually to slay the nations?
