1 When Jethro, the priest of Midian, Moses' father in law, heard of all that God had done for Moses, and for Israel his people, and that the LORD had brought Israel out of Egypt;
2 Nigbana ni Jetro, ana Mose, mú Sippora aya Mose wá, lẹhin ti o ti rán a pada.
2 Then Jethro, Moses' father in law, took Zipporah, Moses' wife, after he had sent her back,
3 Ati awọn ọmọ rẹ̀ mejeji: ti orukọ ọkan njẹ Gerṣomu; nitoriti o wipe, Emi ṣe alejò ni ilẹ ajeji.
3 And her two sons; of which the name of the one was Gershom; for he said, I have been an alien in a strange land:
4 Ati orukọ ekeji ni Elieseri; nitoriti o wipe, Ọlọrun baba mi li alatilẹhin mi, o si gbà mi lọwọ idà Farao:
4 And the name of the other was Eliezer; for the God of my father, said he, was mine help, and delivered me from the sword of Pharaoh:
5 Ati Jetro, ana Mose, o tọ̀ Mose wá ti on ti awọn ọmọ rẹ̀, ati aya rẹ̀ si ijù, nibiti o gbé dó si lẹba oke Ọlọrun.
5 And Jethro, Moses' father in law, came with his sons and his wife unto Moses into the wilderness, where he encamped at the mount of God:
6 O si wi fun Mose pe, Emi Jetro ana rẹ li o tọ̀ ọ wá, pẹlu aya rẹ, ati awọn ọmọ rẹ mejeji pẹlu rẹ̀.
6 And he said unto Moses, I thy father in law Jethro am come unto thee, and thy wife, and her two sons with her.
7 Mose si jade lọ ipade ana rẹ̀, o si tẹriba, o si fi ẹnu kò o li ẹnu, nwọn si bére alafia ara wọn; nwọn si wọ̀ inu agọ́.
7 And Moses went out to meet his father in law, and did obeisance, and kissed him; and they asked each other of their welfare; and they came into the tent.
8 Mose si sọ ohun gbogbo ti OLUWA ti ṣe si Farao, ati si awọn ara Egipti nitori Israeli fun ana rẹ̀, ati gbogbo ipọnju ti o bá wọn li ọ̀na, ati bi OLUWA ti gbà wọn.
8 And Moses told his father in law all that the LORD had done unto Pharaoh and to the Egyptians for Israel's sake, and all the travail that had come upon them by the way, and how the LORD delivered them.
9 Jetro si yọ̀ nitori gbogbo ore ti OLUWA ti ṣe fun Israeli, ẹniti o ti gbàla lọwọ awọn ara Egipti.
9 And Jethro rejoiced for all the goodness which the LORD had done to Israel, whom he had delivered out of the hand of the Egyptians.
10 Jetro si wipe, Olubukún li OLUWA, ẹniti o gbà nyin là lọwọ awọn ara Egipti, ati lọwọ Farao, ẹniti o gbà awọn enia là lọwọ awọn ara Egipti.
10 And Jethro said, Blessed be the LORD, who hath delivered you out of the hand of the Egyptians, and out of the hand of Pharaoh, who hath delivered the people from under the hand of the Egyptians.
11 Mo mọ̀ nisisiyi pe OLUWA tobi jù gbogbo oriṣa lọ: nitõtọ, ninu ọ̀ran ti nwọn ti ṣeféfe si wọn.
11 Now I know that the LORD is greater than all gods: for in the thing wherein they dealt proudly he was above them.
12 Jetro, ana Mose, si mù ẹbọ sisun, ati ẹbọ wá fun Ọlọrun: Aaroni si wá, ati gbogbo awọn àgba Israeli, lati bá ana Mose jẹun niwaju Ọlọrun.
12 And Jethro, Moses' father in law, took a burnt offering and sacrifices for God: and Aaron came, and all the elders of Israel, to eat bread with Moses' father in law before God.
13 O si ṣe ni ijọ́ keji ni Mose joko lati ma ṣe idajọ awọn enia: awọn enia si duro tì Mose lati owurọ̀ titi o fi di aṣalẹ.
13 And it came to pass on the morrow, that Moses sat to judge the people: and the people stood by Moses from the morning unto the evening.
14 Nigbati ana Mose si ri gbogbo eyiti on nṣe fun awọn enia, o ni, Kili eyiti iwọ nṣe fun awọn enia yi? ẽṣe ti iwọ nikan fi dá joko, ti gbogbo enia si duro tì ọ, lati owurọ̀ titi o fi di aṣalẹ?
14 And when Moses' father in law saw all that he did to the people, he said, What is this thing that thou doest to the people? why sittest thou thyself alone, and all the people stand by thee from morning unto even?
15 Mose si wi fun ana rẹ̀ pe, Nitoriti awọn enia ntọ̀ mi wá lati bère lọwọ Ọlọrun ni:
15 And Moses said unto his father in law, Because the people come unto me to inquire of God:
16 Nigbati nwọn ba li ẹjọ́, nwọn a tọ̀ mi wá; emi a si ṣe idajọ larin ẹnikini ati ẹnikeji, emi a si ma mú wọn mọ̀ ìlana Ọlọrun, ati ofin rẹ̀.
16 When they have a matter, they come unto me; and I judge between one and another, and I do make them know the statutes of God, and his laws.
17 Ana Mose si wi fun u pe, Eyiti iwọ nṣe nì kò dara.
17 And Moses' father in law said unto him, The thing that thou doest is not good.
18 Dajudaju iwọ o dá ara rẹ lagara, ati iwọ, ati awọn enia yi ti o pẹlu rẹ: nitoriti nkan yi wuwo jù fun ọ; iwọ nikan ki yio le ṣe e tikalãrẹ.
18 Thou wilt surely wear away, both thou, and this people that is with thee: for this thing is too heavy for thee; thou art not able to perform it thyself alone.
19 Hearken now unto my voice, I will give thee counsel, and God shall be with thee: Be thou for the people to Godward, that thou mayest bring the causes unto God:
20 Ki o si ma kọ́ wọn ni ìlana ati ofin wọnni, ki o si ma fi ọ̀na ti nwọn o ma rìn hàn fun wọn ati iṣẹ ti nwọn o ma ṣe.
20 And thou shalt teach them ordinances and laws, and shalt shew them the way wherein they must walk, and the work that they must do.
21 Pẹlupẹlu iwọ o si ṣà ninu gbogbo awọn enia yi awọn ọkunrin ti o to, ti o bẹ̀ru Ọlọrun, awọn ọkunrin olõtọ, ti o korira ojukokoro; irú awọn wọnni ni ki o fi jẹ́ olori wọn, lati ṣe olori ẹgbẹgbẹrun, ati olori ọrọrún, ati olori arãdọta, ati olori mẹwamẹwa.
21 Moreover thou shalt provide out of all the people able men, such as fear God, men of truth, hating covetousness; and place such over them, to be rulers of thousands, and rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens:
22 Ki nwọn ki o si ma ṣe idajọ awọn enia nigbakugba: yio si ṣe, gbogbo ẹjọ́ nla ni ki nwọn ki o ma mú tọ̀ ọ wá, ṣugbọn gbogbo ẹjọ́ kekeké ni ki nwọn ki o ma dá: yio si rọrùn fun iwọ tikalarẹ, nwọn o si ma bá ọ rù ẹrù na.
22 And let them judge the people at all seasons: and it shall be, that every great matter they shall bring unto thee, but every small matter they shall judge: so shall it be easier for thyself, and they shall bear the burden with thee.
23 Bi iwọ ba jẹ ṣe nkan yi, bi Ọlọrun ba si fi aṣẹ fun ọ bẹ̃, njẹ iwọ o le duro pẹ, ati gbogbo awọn enia yi pẹlu ni yio si dé ipò wọn li alafia.
23 If thou shalt do this thing, and God command thee so, then thou shalt be able to endure, and all this people shall also go to their place in peace.
24 Mose si gbà ohùn ana rẹ̀ gbọ́, o si ṣe ohun gbogbo ti o wi.
24 So Moses hearkened to the voice of his father in law, and did all that he had said.
25 Mose si yàn awọn enia ti o to ninu gbogbo Israeli, o si fi wọn ṣe olori awọn enia, olori ẹgbẹgbẹrun, olori ọrọrún, olori arãdọta, olori mẹwamẹwa.
25 And Moses chose able men out of all Israel, and made them heads over the people, rulers of thousands, rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens.
26 Nwọn si nṣe idajọ awọn enia nigbakugba: ọ̀ran ti o ṣoro, nwọn a mútọ̀ Mose wá, ṣugbọn awọn tikalawọn ṣe idajọ gbogbo ọ̀ran kekeké.
26 And they judged the people at all seasons: the hard causes they brought unto Moses, but every small matter they judged themselves.
27 Mose si jẹ ki ana rẹ̀ ki o lọ; on si ba tirẹ̀ lọ si ilẹ rẹ̀.
27 And Moses let his father in law depart; and he went his way into his own land.
