1 NIGBATI OLUWA Ọlọrun rẹ ba ke awọn orilẹ-ède wọnni kuro, ilẹ ẹniti OLUWA Ọlọrun rẹ fi fun ọ, ti iwọ si rọpò wọn, ti iwọ si joko ni ilu wọn, ati ni ile wọn;
1 When the LORD thy God hath cut off the nations, whose land the LORD thy God giveth thee, and thou succeedest them, and dwellest in their cities, and in their houses;
2 Ki iwọ ki o yà ilu mẹta sọ̀tọ fun ara rẹ lãrin ilẹ rẹ, ti OLUWA Ọlọrun rẹ fi fun ọ lati ní.
2 Thou shalt separate three cities for thee in the midst of thy land, which the LORD thy God giveth thee to possess it.
3 Ki iwọ ki o là ọ̀na kan fun ara rẹ, ki iwọ ki o si pín àgbegbe ilẹ rẹ si ipa mẹta, ti OLUWA Ọlọrun rẹ fi fun ọ lati ní, ki gbogbo apania ki o ma sá sibẹ̀.
3 Thou shalt prepare thee a way, and divide the coasts of thy land, which the LORD thy God giveth thee to inherit, into three parts, that every slayer may flee thither.
4 Eyi si ni ọ̀ran apania, ti yio ma sá sibẹ̀, ki o le yè: ẹnikẹni ti o ba ṣeṣi pa ẹnikeji rẹ̀, ti on kò korira rẹ̀ tẹlẹrí;
4 And this is the case of the slayer, which shall flee thither, that he may live: Whoso killeth his neighbour ignorantly, whom he hated not in time past;
5 Bi nigbati enia ba wọ̀ inu igbó lọ pélu ẹnikeji rẹ̀ lati ke igi, ti o si fi ọwọ́ rẹ̀ gbé ãke lati fi ke igi na lulẹ, ti ãke si yọ kuro ninu erú, ti o si bà ẹnikeji rẹ̀, ti on kú; ki o salọ si ọkan ninu ilu wọnni, ki o si yè:
5 As when a man goeth into the wood with his neighbour to hew wood, and his hand fetcheth a stroke with the axe to cut down the tree, and the head slippeth from the helve, and lighteth upon his neighbour, that he die; he shall flee unto one of those cities, and live:
6 Ki agbẹsan ẹ̀jẹ ki o má ba lepa apania na, nigbati ọkàn rẹ̀ gboná, ki o si lé e bá, nitoriti ọ̀na na jìn, a si pa a; nigbati o jẹ pe kò yẹ lati kú, niwọnbi on kò ti korira rẹ̀ tẹlẹrí.
6 Lest the avenger of the blood pursue the slayer, while his heart is hot, and overtake him, because the way is long, and slay him; whereas he was not worthy of death, inasmuch as he hated him not in time past.
7 Nitorina emi fi aṣẹ fun ọ, wipe, Ki iwọ ki o yà ilu mẹta sọ̀tọ fun ara rẹ.
7 Wherefore I command thee, saying, Thou shalt separate three cities for thee.
8 Ati bi OLUWA Ọlọrun rẹ ba sọ àgbegbe rẹ di nla, ti on ti bura fun awọn baba rẹ, ti o sì fun ọ ni gbogbo ilẹ na, ti o si ṣe ileri fun awọn baba rẹ;
8 And if the LORD thy God enlarge thy coast, as he hath sworn unto thy fathers, and give thee all the land which he promised to give unto thy fathers;
9 Bi iwọ ba pa gbogbo ofin yi mọ́ lati ma ṣe e, ti mo filelẹ li aṣẹ fun ọ li oni, lati ma fẹ́ OLUWA Ọlọrun rẹ, ati lati ma rìn titi li ọ̀na rẹ̀; nigbana ni ki iwọ ki o fi ilu mẹta kún u si i fun ara rẹ, pẹlu mẹta wọnyi;
9 If thou shalt keep all these commandments to do them, which I command thee this day, to love the LORD thy God, and to walk ever in his ways; then shalt thou add three cities more for thee, beside these three:
10 Ki a má ba tà ẹ̀jẹ alaiṣẹ̀ silẹ ninu ilẹ rẹ, ti OLUWA Ọlọrun rẹ fi fun ọ ni iní, ki ẹ̀jẹ ki o má ba wà li ọrùn rẹ.
10 That innocent blood be not shed in thy land, which the LORD thy God giveth thee for an inheritance, and so blood be upon thee.
11 Ṣugbọn bi ọkunrin kan ba korira ẹnikeji rẹ̀, ti o si ba dè e, ti o si dide si i, ti o si lù u li alupa, ti o si kú, ti on si salọ sinu ọkan ninu ilu wọnyi:
11 But if any man hate his neighbour, and lie in wait for him, and rise up against him, and smite him mortally that he die, and fleeth into one of these cities:
12 Njẹ ki awọn àgba ilu rẹ̀ ki o ránni ki nwọn ki o si mú u ti ibẹ̀ wá, ki nwọn ki o si fà a lé agbẹsan ẹ̀jẹ lọwọ ki o ba le kú.
12 Then the elders of his city shall send and fetch him thence, and deliver him into the hand of the avenger of blood, that he may die.
13 Ki oju rẹ ki o máṣe ṣãnu fun u, ṣugbọn ki iwọ ki o mú ẹ̀jẹ alaiṣẹ̀ kuro lori Israeli, ki o si le dara fun ọ.
13 Thine eye shall not pity him, but thou shalt put away the guilt of innocent blood from Israel, that it may go well with thee.
14 Iwọ kò gbọdọ yẹ̀ àla ẹnikeji rẹ, ti awọn ara iṣaju ti pa ni ilẹ iní rẹ ti iwọ o ní, ni ilẹ na ti OLUWA Ọlọrun rẹ fi fun ọ lati ní.
14 Thou shalt not remove thy neighbour's landmark, which they of old time have set in thine inheritance, which thou shalt inherit in the land that the LORD thy God giveth thee to possess it.
15 Ki ẹlẹri kanṣoṣo ki o máṣe dide jẹri tì enia nitori aiṣedede kan, tabi nitori ẹ̀ṣẹ kan ninu ẹ̀ṣẹ ti o ba ṣẹ̀: li ẹnu ẹlẹri meji, tabi li ẹnu ẹlẹri mẹta, li ọ̀ran yio fẹsẹmulẹ.
15 One witness shall not rise up against a man for any iniquity, or for any sin, in any sin that he sinneth: at the mouth of two witnesses, or at the mouth of three witnesses, shall the matter be established.
16 Bi ẹlẹri eké ba dide si ọkunrin lati jẹri tì i li ohun ti kò tọ́:
16 If a false witness rise up against any man to testify against him that which is wrong;
17 Then both the men, between whom the controversy is, shall stand before the LORD, before the priests and the judges, which shall be in those days;
18 Ki awọn onidajọ na ki o si tọ̀sẹ rẹ̀ pẹlẹpẹlẹ: si kiyesi i bi ẹlẹri na ba ṣe ẹlẹri eké, ti o si jẹri-eké si arakunrin rẹ̀;
18 And the judges shall make diligent inquisition: and, behold, if the witness be a false witness, and hath testified falsely against his brother;
19 Njẹ ki ẹnyin ki o ṣe si i, bi on ti rò lati ṣe si arakunrin rẹ̀: bẹ̃ni iwọ o si mú ìwa-buburu kuro lãrin nyin.
19 Then shall ye do unto him, as he had thought to have done unto his brother: so shalt thou put the evil away from among you.
20 Awọn ti o kù yio si gbọ́, nwọn o si bẹ̀ru, nwọn ki o si tun hù irú ìwa-buburu bẹ̃ mọ́ lãrin nyin.
20 And those which remain shall hear, and fear, and shall henceforth commit no more any such evil among you.
21 Ki oju rẹ ki o má si ṣe ṣãnu; ẹmi fun ẹmi, oju fun oju, ehín fun ehín, ọwọ́ fun ọwọ́, ẹsẹ̀ fun ẹsẹ̀.
21 And thine eye shall not pity; but life shall go for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot.
