Daniel 1 - Listen Online

¹ LI ọdun kẹta ijọba Jehoiakimu, ọba Juda ni Nebukadnessari, ọba Babeli, wá si Jerusalemu, o si do tì i.

¹ In the third year of the reign of Jehoiakim king of Judah came Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon unto Jerusalem, and besieged it.

² Oluwa si fi Jehoiakimu, ọba Juda le e lọwọ, pẹlu apakan ohun-elo ile Ọlọrun, ti o kó lọ si ilẹ Ṣinari, si ile oriṣa rẹ̀: o si kó ohun-elo na wá sinu ile-iṣura oriṣa rẹ̀.

² And the Lord gave Jehoiakim king of Judah into his hand, with part of the vessels of the house of God: which he carried into the land of Shinar to the house of his god; and he brought the vessels into the treasure house of his god.

³ Ọba si wi fun Aṣpenasi, olori awọn iwẹfa rẹ̀, pe, ki o mu awọn kan wá ninu awọn ọmọ Israeli, ninu iru-ọmọ ọba, ati ti awọn ijoye;

³ And the king spake unto Ashpenaz the master of his eunuchs, that he should bring certain of the children of Israel, and of the king's seed, and of the princes;

⁴ Awọn ọmọ ti kò lẹgan lara, ṣugbọn awọn ti o ṣe arẹwa, ti o si ni ìmọ ninu ọgbọ́n gbogbo, ti o mọ̀ oye, ti o si ni iyè ninu, ati iru awọn ti o yẹ lati duro li ãfin ọba ati awọn ti a ba ma kọ́ ni iwe ati ede awọn ara Kaldea.

⁴ Children in whom was no blemish, but well favoured, and skilful in all wisdom, and cunning in knowledge, and understanding science, and such as had ability in them to stand in the king's palace, and whom they might teach the learning and the tongue of the Chaldeans.

⁵ Ọba si pese onjẹ wọn ojojumọ ninu adidùn ọba ati ninu ọti-waini ti o nmu: ki a bọ wọn bẹ̃ li ọdun mẹta, pe, li opin rẹ̀, ki nwọn ki o le duro niwaju ọba.

⁵ And the king appointed them a daily provision of the king's meat, and of the wine which he drank: so nourishing them three years, that at the end thereof they might stand before the king.

⁶ Njẹ ninu awọn wọnyi ni Danieli, Hananiah, Miṣaeli, ati Asariah, lati inu awọn ọmọ Juda:

⁶ Now among these were of the children of Judah, Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah:

⁷ Awọn ẹniti olori awọn iwẹfa si fi orukọ fun: bẹ̃li o pè Danieli ni Belteṣassari, ati Hananiah ni Ṣadraki; ati Miṣaeli ni Méṣaki; ati Asariah ni Abednego.

⁷ Unto whom the prince of the eunuchs gave names: for he gave unto Daniel the name of Belteshazzar; and to Hananiah, of Shadrach; and to Mishael, of Meshach; and to Azariah, of Abed-nego.

⁸ Ṣugbọn Danieli pinnu rẹ̀ li ọkàn rẹ̀ pe, on kì yio fi onjẹ adidùn ọba, ati ọti-waini ti o nmu ba ara on jẹ: nitorina o bẹ̀ olori awọn iwẹfa pe, ki on má ba ba ara on jẹ.

⁸ But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king's meat, nor with the wine which he drank: therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself.

⁹ Ọlọrun sa ti mu Danieli ba ojurere ati iyọ́nu pade lọdọ olori awọn iwẹfa.

⁹ Now God had brought Daniel into favour and tender love with the prince of the eunuchs.

¹⁰ Olori awọn iwẹfa si wi fun Danieli pe, Mo bẹ̀ru ọba, oluwa mi, ẹniti o yàn onjẹ nyin ati ohun mimu nyin: nitori bawo li on o ṣe ri oju nyin ki o faro jù ti awọn ọmọkunrin ẹgbẹ nyin kanna lọ? nigbana li ẹnyin o ṣe ki emi ki o fi ori mi wewu lọdọ ọba.

¹⁰ And the prince of the eunuchs said unto Daniel, I fear my lord the king, who hath appointed your meat and your drink: for why should he see your faces worse liking than the children which are of your sort? then shall ye make me endanger my head to the king.

¹¹ Nigbana ni Danieli wi fun olutọju ti olori awọn iwẹfa fi ṣe oluṣọ Danieli, Hananiah, Miṣaeli, ati Asariah pe,

¹¹ Then said Daniel to Melzar, whom the prince of the eunuchs had set over Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah,

¹² Dán awọn ọmọ-ọdọ rẹ wò, emi bẹ̀ ọ, ni ijọ mẹwa; ki o si jẹ ki nwọn ki o ma fi ẹ̀wa fun wa lati jẹ, ati omi lati mu.

¹² Prove thy servants, I beseech thee, ten days; and let them give us pulse to eat, and water to drink.

¹³ Nigbana ni ki a wò oju wa niwaju rẹ, ati oju awọn ọmọ ti njẹ onjẹ adidùn ọba: bi iwọ ba si ti ri i si, bẹ̃ni ki o ṣe si awọn ọmọ-ọdọ rẹ.

¹³ Then let our countenances be looked upon before thee, and the countenance of the children that eat of the portion of the king's meat: and as thou seest, deal with thy servants.

¹⁴ Bẹ̃li o gbà fun wọn li ọ̀ran yi, o si dan wọn wò ni ijọ mẹwa.

¹⁴ So he consented to them in this matter, and proved them ten days.

¹⁵ Li opin ọjọ mẹwa, a ri oju wọn lẹwa, nwọn si sanra jù gbogbo awọn ti njẹ onjẹ adidùn ọba lọ.

¹⁵ And at the end of ten days their countenances appeared fairer and fatter in flesh than all the children which did eat the portion of the king's meat.

¹⁶ Bẹ̃ni olutọju mu onjẹ adidùn wọn kuro, ati ọti-waini ti nwọn iba mu, o si fun wọn li ẹ̀wa.

¹⁶ Thus Melzar took away the portion of their meat, and the wine that they should drink; and gave them pulse.

¹⁷ Bi o ṣe ti awọn ọmọ mẹrẹrin wọnyi ni, Ọlọrun fun wọn ni ìmọ ati oye ni gbogbo iwe ati ọgbọ́n: Danieli si li oye ni gbogbo iran ati alá.

¹⁷ As for these four children, God gave them knowledge and skill in all learning and wisdom: and Daniel had understanding in all visions and dreams.

¹⁸ Nigbati o si di opin ọjọ ti ọba ti da pe ki a mu wọn wá, nigbana ni olori awọn iwẹfa mu wọn wá siwaju Nebukadnessari.

¹⁸ Now at the end of the days that the king had said he should bring them in, then the prince of the eunuchs brought them in before Nebuchadnezzar.

¹⁹ Ọba si ba wọn sọ̀rọ: ninu gbogbo wọn, kò si si ẹniti o dabi Danieli, Hananiah, Miṣaeli ati Asariah: nitorina ni nwọn fi nduro niwaju ọba.

¹⁹ And the king communed with them; and among them all was found none like Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah: therefore stood they before the king.

²⁰ Ati ninu gbogbo ọ̀ran ọgbọ́n ati oye, ti ọba mbère lọwọ wọn, o ri pe ni iwọn igba mẹwa, nwọn sàn jù gbogbo awọn amoye ati ọlọgbọ́n ti o wà ni gbogbo ilẹ ijọba rẹ̀ lọ.

²⁰ And in all matters of wisdom and understanding, that the king inquired of them, he found them ten times better than all the magicians and astrologers that were in all his realm.

²¹ Danieli si wà sibẹ titi di ọdun ikini ti Kirusi, ọba.

²¹ And Daniel continued even unto the first year of king Cyrus.
