¹ BAYI li Oluwa Ọlọrun ti fi hàn mi; si wò o, o dá ẽṣú ni ibẹ̀rẹ irú-soke idàgba ikẹhin, si wò o, idàgba ikẹhìn lẹhìn ike-kuro ti ọba nì.

¹ Thus hath the Lord GOD shewed unto me; and, behold, he formed grasshoppers in the beginning of the shooting up of the latter growth; and, lo, it was the latter growth after the king's mowings.

² O si ṣe, ti nwọn jẹ koriko ilẹ na tan, nigbana ni mo wipe, Oluwa Ọlọrun, darijì, emi bẹ̀ ọ: Jakobu yio ha ṣe le dide? nitori ẹnikekere li on.

² And it came to pass, that when they had made an end of eating the grass of the land, then I said, O Lord GOD, forgive, I beseech thee: by whom shall Jacob arise? for he is small.

³ Oluwa ronupiwàda nitori eyi: Kì yio ṣe, li Oluwa wi.

³ The LORD repented for this: It shall not be, saith the LORD.

⁴ Bayi li Oluwa Ọlọrun ti fi hàn mi: si wò o, Oluwa Ọlọrun pè lati fi iná jà, o si jó ibú nla nì run, o si jẹ apakan run.

⁴ Thus hath the Lord GOD shewed unto me: and, behold, the Lord GOD called to contend by fire, and it devoured the great deep, and did eat up a part.

⁵ Nigbana ni mo wipe, Oluwa Ọlọrun, dawọ duro, emi bẹ̀ ọ: Jakobu yio ha ṣe le dide? nitori ẹnikekere li on.

⁵ Then said I, O Lord GOD, cease, I beseech thee: by whom shall Jacob arise? for he is small.

⁶ Oluwa ronupiwàda nitori eyi: Eyi pẹlu kì yio ṣe, li Oluwa Ọlọrun wi.

⁶ The LORD repented for this: This also shall not be, saith the Lord GOD.

⁷ Bayi li on fi hàn mi: si wò o, Oluwa duro lori odi kan, ti a fi okùn-ìwọn ti o run mọ, ti on ti okùn-ìwọn ti o run li ọwọ́ rẹ̀.

⁷ Thus he shewed me: and, behold, the Lord stood upon a wall made by a plumbline, with a plumbline in his hand.

⁸ Oluwa si wi fun mi pe, Amosi, kini iwọ ri? Emi si wipe, Okùn-ìwọn kan ti o run ni. Nigbana ni Oluwa wipe, Wò o, emi o fi okùn-ìwọn rirun kan le ilẹ lãrin Israeli enia mi: emi kì yio si tun kọja lọdọ wọn mọ:

⁸ And the LORD said unto me, Amos, what seest thou? And I said, A plumbline. Then said the Lord, Behold, I will set a plumbline in the midst of my people Israel: I will not again pass by them any more:

⁹ Ibi giga Israeli wọnni yio si di ahoro: ati ibi mimọ́ Israeli wọnni yio di ahoro; emi o si fi idà dide si ile Jeroboamu.

⁹ And the high places of Isaac shall be desolate, and the sanctuaries of Israel shall be laid waste; and I will rise against the house of Jeroboam with the sword.

¹⁰ Nigbana ni Amasiah, alufa Beteli ranṣẹ si Jeroboamu ọba Israeli, wipe, Amosi ti ditẹ̀ si ọ lãrin ile Israeli: ilẹ kò si le gba gbogbo ọ̀rọ rẹ̀.

¹⁰ Then Amaziah the priest of Bethel sent to Jeroboam king of Israel, saying, Amos hath conspired against thee in the midst of the house of Israel: the land is not able to bear all his words.

¹¹ Nitori bayi li Amosi wi, Jeroboamu yio ti ipa idà kú, nitõtọ Israeli li a o si fà lọ si igbèkun kuro ni ilẹ rẹ̀.

¹¹ For thus Amos saith, Jeroboam shall die by the sword, and Israel shall surely be led away captive out of their own land.

¹² Amasiah sọ fun Amosi pẹlu pe, Iwọ ariran, lọ, salọ si ilẹ Juda, si ma jẹun nibẹ̀, si ma sọtẹlẹ nibẹ̀:

¹² Also Amaziah said unto Amos, O thou seer, go, flee thee away into the land of Judah, and there eat bread, and prophesy there:

¹³ Ṣugbọn máṣe sọtẹlẹ̀ mọ ni Beteli: nitori ibi mimọ́ ọba ni, ãfin ọba si ni.

¹³ But prophesy not again any more at Bethel: for it is the king's chapel, and it is the king's court.

¹⁴ Nigbana ni Amosi dahùn, o si wi fun Amasiah pe, Emi ki iṣe woli ri, bẹ̃ni emi kì iṣe ọmọ woli, ṣugbọn olùṣọ-agùtan li emi ti iṣe ri, ati ẹniti iti ma ká eso ọpọ̀tọ:

¹⁴ Then answered Amos, and said to Amaziah, I was no prophet, neither was I a prophet's son; but I was an herdman, and a gatherer of sycomore fruit:

¹⁵ Oluwa si mu mi, bi mo ti ntọ̀ agbo-ẹran lẹhìn, Oluwa si wi fun mi pe, Lọ, sọtẹlẹ̀ fun Israeli enia mi.

¹⁵ And the LORD took me as I followed the flock, and the LORD said unto me, Go, prophesy unto my people Israel.

¹⁶ Njẹ nisisiyi, iwọ gbọ́ ọ̀rọ Oluwa: Iwọ wipe, Máṣe sọtẹlẹ̀ si Israeli, má si jẹ ki ọ̀rọ rẹ kán silẹ si ile Isaaki.

¹⁶ Now therefore hear thou the word of the LORD: Thou sayest, Prophesy not against Israel, and drop not thy word against the house of Isaac.

¹⁷ Nitorina bayi li Oluwa wi; Obinrin rẹ yio di panṣagà ni ilu, ati awọn ọmọ rẹ ọkunrin ati awọn ọmọ rẹ obinrin, yio ti ipa idà ṣubu; ilẹ rẹ li a o si fi okùn pin; iwọ o si kú ni ilẹ aimọ́: nitõtọ, a o si kó Israeli lọ ni igbèkun kuro ni ilẹ rẹ̀.

¹⁷ Therefore thus saith the LORD; Thy wife shall be an harlot in the city, and thy sons and thy daughters shall fall by the sword, and thy land shall be divided by line; and thou shalt die in a polluted land: and Israel shall surely go into captivity forth of his land.
