It is mother’s day! Happy Mother’s day everywhere. We at DaBible Foundation are taking this opportunity to celebrate all mothers. To mothers all around the globe, we thank you, you are gifts from the Lord, and we appreciate your efforts in nurturing the world.
The Bible says, “honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land of the LORD your God is giving you.” (Exodus 20:12). We honor you, our mothers. Therefore, I encourage children to show their mothers some love today. Get mom a gift, take her out for dinner, and give her a foot massage, do not just assume she will be ok. You are never too old to celebrate your mom, rather, each year you get to spend with her is precious and should be jubilated. Likewise, young people do not think you are too young to appreciate your mother. You could make some crafts for her, buy her a Mother’s day card, or do something she will appreciate. Remember to tell mom you love her.
Message
For some, love is a largely unpopular word and should not be spoken often, but do you know that in 1 John 4:16, the bible calls God love? God is love. The whole of 1 John 4 encourages us to show love as Christians. The key message of this bible text is that we show love to God when we show love to the people around us.
1 John 4:20, “Whoever claims to love God yet hates a brother or sister is a liar. For whoever does not love their brother and sister, whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen.”
Therefore, if you are a son or daughter that cannot recall the last time you told your mom, “I love you,” please take steps to remedy this today. The previous bible text encourages us to show love and not hate.
Husbands and our Daddys, I encourage you to show your wife some love today, celebrate her, and make her feel special. She is indeed special. 1 Peter 3:7 implores husbands to be considerate to their wives so that their prayers are not hindered.
The Holy Spirit as Comforter
A mother comforts; the Holy Spirit comforts too. It will be a disservice to assume that everyone is celebrating today. There are some who are orphans out there, some who are motherless, some who are victims of broken homes, and some victims of failing marriages. Some people are unable to find joy in today’s occasion. We pray the Holy Spirit will comfort you and uphold you. Similarly, we send prayers to those trusting God for the fruit of the womb, and may you be fruitful in the name of Jesus. AMEN. Hold on to the word of God.
Psalms 113:9 (New International Version) – He settles the childless woman in her home as a happy mother of children.
Today is a happy day for every mother. I say rejoice, Mothers! Rejoice in the Lord.
Note: Please take some time to drop a comment down below. Tell us the name of one wonderful woman you are celebrating today. Poem for Mother
Oh mother, thou mother,
Oh, the womb that bore me
such true love you give
Your warm hugs,
And happy smiles
I will not soon forget
Your care is tender,
Your love is pure
You chastise me with the truth,
and hold no grudge against my faults
I’ll praise the mother of my youth
Who taught me of God, His Son, and the Spirit.
You are a virtuous woman.
A woman of Zion
Surely your name is Blessed
For you are a woman of valor.
